The amazing maker and doer community of Gilbert, Arizona
Gilbert, Arizona, is a place where the creative community and craft offerings are in your face. Our host Philwaukee dove deep: a goat yoga session at the Welcome Home Ranch, checking out the Riparian Preserve park, and then on to Agritopia, a community gardens farm and craftsman community.
At Joe's Farm Grill and the Uprooted Kitchen, there was no shortage of good eats. And this continued throughout Gilbert, from the Farmers Market to Joe's Real BBQ, plus awesome craft beer at the Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.
Culturally, Gilbert offers a great community theatre (Hale Center Theatre), as well as an art walk and historical museum. Come check out this unique, down-home Southwestern town where rad people come together.

Phoenix, Arizona, USA
For me, one of the ultimate American food meals to eat is awesome BBQ - when the meat is smoked perfectly so it slides off the bone, and the flavor is packed full of insane smokiness. My brother in law Derek had already been to Little Miss BBQ, but it was my first time to eat here, and I was so excited.
I arrived a little over an hour early to get in line, but luckily as soon as you pull up you get a number so that you don’t actually have to wait in line the entire time.
Scott and the entire crew at Little Miss BBQ are amazing, and you can immediately feel their passion and their genuine love for what they do and for the people they get to interact with everyday as a result of serving the best BBQ in Phoenix! Scott and his wife have an interesting and amazing grassroots history and start to their BBQ business. They first started making BBQ at home just because they loved doing it. Eventually they started competing in American BBQ competitions. At the beginning things didn’t go so well, but they kept going and perfecting their BBQ recipes and eventually started to win some of the competitions. Eventually they opened Little Miss BBQ, and it’s one of the best BBQ spots you’ll ever eat at.
So after getting the full tour of the restaurant and all the smoked meat, it was about time to open. You line up outside and the actual inside is quite small - most people either takeaway or eat outside.
I wanted to try a little of everything, so we got a giant tray of smoked BBQ meat including pork ribs, pulled pork, turkey, sausage, brisket, and beef ribs, with sides. Total price for the entire tray came to $92.70 - that was a lot of meat!
Thanks to my brother in law Derek for coming out to eat as well. We started with the beef ribs, and those are the best of the best. The meat falls apart and it was so insanely juicy and flavorful. The BBQ brisket will also blow you mind with its massive meaty flavor and juiciness. Finally my other top meat was the sausage, including jalapeno and a mix of meat and bacon.
Lastly, you have to eat your American food bbq feast with their famous pecan pie. And even though I’m not into sweets, a few bites at the end was amazing.
Little Miss BBQ is a phenomenal BBQ restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona. Not only will the quality and taste of the meat blow you away, but the passion of Scott and the entire crew are so genuine and so friendly, and that’s what makes it so good.

The Original Taco Bell Tacos - MEXICAN STREET FOOD Tour in Los Angeles, California!
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week:
►T-shirts and caps available now:
Thanks to Jeffrey Merrihue ( and Austin Burgess (
Along with Jeffrey and Austin - two food extreme friends, we set off on a day of Mexican food and fun feasting in greater LA.
Gilberto’s Taquiza - For the first stop on this Mexican street food tour, we drove all the way to West Covina, California, about 45 minutes from Central Los Angeles, to a little spot known as Gilberto’s Taquiza. Jeffrey made sure to call Gilberto himself to reserve some of the meat dripping dynamite sticks to make sure we had some. The dynamite sticks are essentially stewed lamb, cooked until fall apart tender and dripping with oil. In order to make them he dunked a tortilla into the hot oil, sizzled it on the hot plate, filled it with the fall apart tender meat, and rolled it up into a taquito. The result was spectacular. Everything else was delicious too, but the dynamite sticks were crazily good.
Total price - $35 for everything
Birrieria Guadalajara - Next we drove a little further towards Riverside, California, to eat birria, a special Mexican goat stew. Again, this is another Mexican food that just melts in your mouth, meat cooked until fall apart tender. It was spectacular and all the staff were very friendly as well.
Total price - $32 for everything
Mitla Cafe - Right across the street from Birrieria Guadalajara you will find Mitla Cafe, home to the original crunchy American taco. An American taco is a crunchy shell, ground beef, iceberg lettuce, yellow cheese, and tame salsa. As the true story goes, Glen Bell was selling food across the street and used to come to Mitla Cafe to eat their amazing crunchy tacos. Eventually he got the owner to show him how to make the crunchy tacos, and he later started the entire taco bell empire. The downside is that he never admitted that he got the idea and recipe from Mitla Cafe. It’s nice to see Mitla Cafe is still doing very well, and their crunchy American tacos are fantastic.
Price - $13.95
Taco Bell - Yes, just for comparison purposes, we had to go to the nearly Taco Bell. It had been years since I had last eaten taco bell. I have to admit the crunchy tacos were decent, but the crunchwrap supreme doritos locos thing we order, nope. That just didn’t do it for me.
Mariscos Jalisco - Finally to end this Mexican street food tour of LA, we headed to Mariscos Jalisco, a legendary seafood truck serving their famous shrimp tostadas and the Poseidon. They were delicious in every dimension, and it was the perfect ending to this full day of amazing Mexican food in LA.
Total price - $13 for everything
Thank you for watching this LA food video!

YUCCA AZ ~ old Arizona Mining Town
*TURN ON CLOSED CAPTIONING (CC)* July 19, 2012. I was out this way to check on the opening of the UFO home musuem (aka Golf Ball House). The gates were locked, so I don't know what's going on with that situation. So, anyway, I decided to stop over in Yucca AZ to look around. It's a very small town, just a couple hundred in population. A few structures were interesting to look over and photograph. A Yucca resident talked to me about the town, how it started out as a mine community, mining for copper, silver, gold. Later a gunnery, military training for aircraft pilots, shooting machine guns and such from planes. In modern times it was the area where the Ford and Chrysler proving grounds operated, with I think Chryler still in operation, testing their vehicles.
It was getting late in the day, so I didn't cover everything. Saw the itsy bitsy Yucca Post Office, the Yucca Elementary School (with the letter S about falling off the sign), the Yucca Baptist Church, some old Yucca Mission building that looked abandoned long ago, and some old antiquated houses from long ago. This place has very much a feel of an old ghost town with just sprinkles of indications of life. The local bar, the Honolulu Club had two customers at the bar. I went in to get an energy drink, didn't have Monster, so I settled for Red Bull.
Anyway, a big hello to all the small independent film and video makers, journalists, youtubers, CrackHeadSally, BillyBobTruckDriver, George4title (G4T), Alex Jones (aka Bonehead Paranoid Fearmonger), Peter Schiff (stuttering and repetitively talking about the Fed printing too much money), Marc Faber (who laughs at Americans), Jim Rogers (Chinese American Citizen Billionaire), as well to all the tons of friends everywhere around the world in which I am way too busy to talk to.
Remember everyone, Buy Silver and Gold. Why? Because millions of adult children living in the basement of their Mom's house believe it is the best thing to do.
I may be out in the area again to do some metal detecting with the Fisher Gold Bug 2 (II) metal detector, maybe find some gold nuggets, relics, etc
No, this high definition (HD) video is not about Yucca Valley California (CA).

Arizona man, 110 years-old, credits long life and health to 5 foods
MESA, Arizona - Good old father's advice and simple foods are credited with helping a Valley man reach a milestone birthday.
Eat properly and get your rest, recommends Bernando LaPallo.
Words to live by considering the Mesa resident was born in Brazil in 1901 and has lived to be 110 years old.
They had no automobiles, no airplanes I saw them all come about, remembered LaPallo.
LaPallo claims he's never been sick a day in his life. He walks every morning and eats mostly organic fruits and veggies.
People ask me what do you do to stay so young, LaPallo explained. I say, 'Well you've heard the old saying, you are what you eat.'
So what's LaPallo's secret? Five foods: garlic, honey, cinnamon, chocolate and olive oil.
Use olive oil on your skin, LaPallo said. Rub your feet rub your arms you'll never rust.
Healthy habits LaPallo picked up from his father, a doctor, who lived to be 98.
Full story at ABC 15
He told me not to eat ordinary red meat, expressed LaPallo. He said lamb is okay but red meat, stay away from it. Hot dogs, french fries and all those things don't eat it.
LaPallo keeps his brain sharp by being a voracious reader, solving crossword puzzles and playing checkers.
I can remember things my father told me when I was 8 years old, LaPallo recalled.
A father who showed his son how to have a rich life worth living.
And he taught me how to live, how to eat and to have faith in God and he would take care of me, smiled LaPallo. And so far it has happened.

With the contest done, the first thing on my mind the next day was breakfast...And I've never eaten at Denny's before. Time to remedy that.
All calorie information is taken from Denny's website. To me the numbers seem high, I would estimate more likely this is around 5,000, but then again...Everything tastes so delicious here it's probably been soaked in lard and maple syrup for days!
