Storm hits Northwestern College Campus. This storm was classified as a gustnado. A gustnado is similar to a tornado in the fact that it rotates, but it's direction is horizontal rather than a vertical like an actual tornado.

This 8MM Movie was taken by Mr. Martin and Mrs. Ethel Van Oosterhout of Orange City Iowa. Mr. Martin Donald Van Oosterhout (October 10, 1900 - January 28, 1979) was a judge on the 21st Judicial District of Iowa from 1933 to 1954.
Van Oosterhout was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Van Oosterhout was nominated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on August 16, 1954, to a seat vacated by Seth Thomas. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 20, 1954, and received his commission on August 26, 1954. He served as chief judge from 1968-1970. He assumed senior status on July 6, 1971. Van Oosterhout's service was terminated on January 28, 1979, due to death.
They married in 1928 and had 1 son, Peter Denne Van Oosterhout.
Ethel Greenway Van Oosterhout was the President of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Iowa was the first state organization to join the GFWC.
