Wuling Farm - 武陵農場, Taichung, Taiwan, 9/1-3/2015
The farm, 武陵農場, is located in the valley area of Heping Township, Taichung County. It is the habitat of national treasure “Masu Salmon”, an endangered fish, and one of the main farming areas in Taiwan. Wuling Farm is famous for fruit produce, such as pears, plums, apples, and peaches; under suitable natural environment, vegetables and high mountain tea are also important crops. The flower views are attractive for visitors, especially in autumn. The view of maple leaves and cool climate make Wuling Farm a wonderful place to spend your vacation. The snow view in winter is another feature of Wuling Farm, and the trails under different terrain lead you to spectacular scenery. Along your journey, you may also head to Shei-Pa National Park which is also located in Heping Township. Wuling Forest Park is an ideal destination for hikers and tourists, offering views of mountains, valleys and waterfalls. The Park has campground, trails and ecology garden. Wuling suspension bridge is right at the entrance to the home of Masu Salmon.
Experiencing A Wonderland Basian Mountain National Forest Recreation Area
Basian Mountain National Forest Recreation Area is located in Heping District, Taichung City. As the mountain has an altitude nearly 8,000 chi in Japanese; it was named as Basian that means eight thousand chi during Japanese rule. Basian Mountain is one of the three largest forest farms in Taiwan. It was originally a lively mountain city. Later people paid much attention to development of sustainable forestry here. Today, there are beautiful forests, many habitats of animals and amazing scenes in four seasons especially cherry blossom grove in the spring. Furthermore places for research and study, hiking trails, footpaths along clear brooks and through valleys, tea booths and log cabins have been established for forest bath and ecological experience. You may take a tour to enjoy the leisure away from the crowd, embrace the nature and experience the wonderland.
