A bus ride from Gloucester to Hereford 10/06/2015
A bus ride from Gloucester to Hereford taking in some of the Gloucestershire and Herefordshire countryside and villiages on this scenic route. We were aboard an Enviro formally based at Ross On Wye but now based in Gloucester. Bumpy roads made it hardwork as many roads aren't maintained in the area. 10/06/2015

Day eleven of a fifteen day journey from John o' Groats to Land's End via some of the many green roads which dot our island.
The JOGLE later included the inaugural Bike Tours for the Wounded byway tour, which (together with our JOGLE) raised over ten thousand pounds to help wounded, injured and six service personal (both current and serving) enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime motorcycle tour of the United States.
On day eleven we headed south-east from Hereford to Gloucester via the handful of isolated green roads which make a more interesting alternative to the sealed road.
From Gloucester we headed to Cheltenham and picked up many of the stony Cotswold lanes found between the spa town and Stroud, where we stopped for ice-cream upon reaching Minchinhampton Common en route to Nailsworth Ladder.
Eventually we arrived at Fosse Way – the lengthy unsealed green road that leads into Wiltshire aside the Gloucestershire county boundary. After a memorable fording experience we arrived at Blacklands Campsite via Roundway Hill.

Brecon Station model railway layout testing – 02SEP14
So, my second video – hopefully slightly better than the first!
The camera truck is a four wheel flat bed truck but probably slightly too light. Nevertheless now the engine is pushing the video camera so that the viewer has a more natural look of the track. Please note that work is very much still in progress.
The test starts from Brecon’s bay platform heading east. This was typically the platform used for Hay-on-Wye and Hereford trains. Note the spur immediately to the left which is currently incomplete. This spur ort siding will lead to a turntable yet to be built.
Note at 20 seconds you get a glimpse of my small workroom in the background as the camera truck passes over a lifting section of track. Curving to the right we then head down a long straight which forms part of an eight road fiddle yard. At the end we enter a tunnel which, through routing, exits onto the down track back toward Brecon Station via the fiddle yard. As we cross the lifting section again you can see a second control bench (two vdu screens) in the background.
The first double slip will eventually give access to Watton goods yard whilst the second double slip will give access to a carriage siding. We then enter Brecon on Platform 2.
Thanks for watching. Any comments welcomed.
