XTC DIve Center: Overview
Welcome to the Caribbean few people have ever seen…
With miles of pristine reefs, shallow-water shipwrecks, bottomless deep-wall dives, and an array of big animals and other exotic marine creatures, Mexico's best diving is just a few hours' drive down the coast from the crowded Riviera Maya, though it feels like worlds away.
XTC Dive Center is a full-service, PADI 5-Star dive resort and Instructor Development Center located in the tiny fishing village of Xcalak, the southernmost town on the Caribbean coast, and within the Xcalak Reef National Marine Park.
This unique ecosystem offers dozens of fantastic dive sites only 5 to 30 minutes from our pier.
Just 36 nautical miles away lies the legendary Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve, a vast, protected marine sanctuary that sees fewer than 1,000 divers per year.
XTC is the only dive operator running in both Xcalak and Chinchorro. We can accommodate divers of all levels, providing world-class facilities, training, and service in a remote, natural setting.
Our facility is designed as a one-stop shop. It includes a dedicated tech diving facility, complete with a custom-built gas-blending station.
Our training programs far exceed the highest industry standards, from recreational scuba courses to professional and technical diving training at instructor levels.
We know how lucky we are to live and work in one of the last unspoiled dive destinations in the Caribbean: XTC is committed to responsible tourism, sustainability, and conservation.
You will find that spirit in everything we do, from our facilities to our one-of-a-kind trips and rigorous training philosophies.
Contact XTC today to experience it for yourself.

SCUBA DIVING WITH TARPON IN XCALAK MEXICO
Xcalak, Mexico is a bit far off the beaten path. While quite close to Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Cancun, rarely do tourists venture further south than the cruise ship town of Mahahual.
When you get to this sleepy beach town, you'll realize there's not too much there. A few tiendas selling groceries, a taco shop, and also... one of the nicest PADI dive shops I've ever seen.
I had watched a few videos of swimming with Crocodiles and Sailfish, scuba dives I didn't think you could do in Mexico, also I had my eye on diving a remote island reef called Banco Chinchorro. I investigated how to do each, and they all traced back to XTC diveshop in Xcalak.
During this time of year (April) the main attraction was diving with Tarpon, a huge 2 meter long silver-sided fish, that is often quite a trophy for fishermen. Here, fishing was off the table, but diving with these giants was in full season
During my stay here I ended up diving the site twice, as well as many other surrounding dive sites. This is one video of a few showcasing the diving in and around Xcalak and Banco Chinchorro.
Thoughts on what I said at the end of the video? How much more diving do you want to see on this channel? Should I make a second one?

XTC Tec Diving: Overview
Mexico's Caribbean coast isn't widely known as a technical diving destination, but only because it has been largely unexplored. XTC Tec Diving offers world-class technical diving and training, up to and including full Trimix Instructor and Rebreather training on the SF2, Megalodon and JJ Rebreathers.
Our location within Xcalak National Marine Park, just over the border with Belize, offers dozens of fantastic dive sites only 5 to 30 minutes from our pier. The sheer, bottomless walls of Hob Na and Santa Julia are ideal for deep technical dives, with the added advantage that we are able to conduct deco stops up to 20 feet without leaving the reef.
XTC's custom-built, self-contained facility—the only one of its kind in our region—was thoughtfully designed by experienced Tech diving instructors. It features a modern, multi-functional layout—with equipment tables ideal for Rebreathers, camera tables with charging stations, rolling equipment racks, a retail shop and classroom —all within a single, ample, space.
We offer the full range of PADI and TDI Technical level courses, and can accommodate recreational and technical divers of all levels. Owning all our facilities, tanks, fill and blending station, classrooms, resort and boats enables us to offer competitive pricing on packages that include lodging, diving and meals.
With seamless logistics and one-stop shopping for all diving needs, XTC is the perfect place for any tech diving or training program, whether open or closed circuit, backmount or Sidemount.
