Chinese High speed train from Beijin to Xi'an
My trip on CRH from Beijin to Xi'an. The outside was in the heavy fog due to heavy pollutions in this country, but considering I would be soon home it was very pleasant. 2013年1月30号从北京回西安,4个多小时乘坐高铁,回想以前上学的时候要十几个小时,这个车还是快。窗外雾霾横贯整个旅程,像寂静岭一样。不过想到又要回家了,心情仍然那么舒畅!

Twin Pagoda Temple | Yongzuo Temple in Shanxi Province, China
The Twin Pagoda Temple (Chinese: 双塔寺; Pinyin: Shūangtǎsì), officially known as Yongzuo Temple (Chinese: 永祚寺; Pinyin: Yǒngzuòsì), of Taiyuan, Shanxi province, China, is a temple containing two pagodas dating from the Ming dynasty.
The East pagoda was built in 1597, and the West one in 1612. In charge of the pagoda’s construction was a high ranking monk, named Fodeng (佛灯). By the 20th century, deterioration since construction had caused the East pagoda to slant from its center of gravity by 2.87 meters. In 1995, experts set about trying to correct the slant. They removed earth from underneath the pagoda and successfully corrected the pagoda's tilt

Nanjing, capital of China’s eastern Jiangsu province, is roughly 300km up the Yangtze River from the city of Shanghai. It was the national capital during part of the Ming dynasty. Many monuments and landmarks remain, including Zhonghua Gate (Gate of China), a preserved 14th-century section of the massive wall that contained the old city’s southern entrance. In addition to historical sights, memorials, museums and cultural sights also attract thousands of visitors. The famous Confucius Temple (Fuzimiao) is not only a memorial place for the Great Sage but has a surrounding area bustling with shops, restaurants and a snack street housed in traditional architectural buildings. The nearby Imperial Examination Museum of China (Jiangnan Examination Hall) and Former Residence of the Wang and Xie Families have seen their best days in ancient times. In the city center, Nanjing Museum is a must for visitors with a collection of more than 420 thousand pieces, including about 2,000 that are rare and valued. The Zijinshan Observatory (Purple Mountain Observatory) to the east of the city center was the first modern observatory built in China. Qinhuai River, in the southwest of the city, extends one hundred kilometers. The river used to be the most flourishing part of the city in the old days. In many Chinese novels, it is renowned as a place which nurtured beauties and romance. Today, it is a place for people to recall the old splendor of this historical city. Like all sights here, it tells the story of past, present and future of the city.

State Media Confirms Cover Up of Deadly Shanxi Tunnel Explosion
State-run media reported today a subsidiary of state-owned China Railway Tunnel Group covered-up a deadly accident in Shanxi province.
The explosion inside a tunnel happened on December 25th. It was first exposed by netizens, but the company in charge of the construction concealed it for five days.
Xinhua News Agency says the explosion killed eight people. But online reports say as many as 60 perished.
On Wednesday (January 2), Shanxi's acting governor, Li Xiaopeng, visited the site. He declared there would be zero tolerance for cover-ups.
[Lin Zixu, Political Commentator]
At the site, Li Xiaopeng berated officials and others. But as the governor, he should be responsible. He didn't personally apologize, but was criticizing others, as though everyone was at fault but him, and he's there to uphold justice.
Li Xiaopeng is the son of former Chinese Premier Li Peng and has held official positions in Shanxi since 2008.
The explosion is one of several industrial accidents around China in recent weeks.
NTD Senior China Analyst, Heng He, believes that's why Li and state media are now reacting.
[Heng He, NTD Senior China Analyst]
Senior Chinese leaders are hoping to sleep easy. Now they can find a scapegoat from the railway company. It'll be easy to punish them, and it'll also quell public anger.
Xinhua's report says it was the construction manager who covered-up the accident.
Xinhua also said it was acknowledged by officials on December 30th but state-media did not report on it till today. This is one reason why Chinese people are bypassing official press, and turning to social media instead to spread and receive information.

Taiyuan tourist attraction Yongsheng Temple _ Twin Tower Temple
Yongzheng Temple was founded in 1599 (the 27th year of Ming Wanli), the first name is Yongming Temple, 1608 (the thirty-six years of Wanli), the folk custom is called Shuangta Temple.
It is located on the south hill of Haozhuang Village, about 3 kilometers southeast of Taiyuan City.
The old tower in the temple was originally named Wenfeng Tower, which was built in 1599 (the 27th year of Ming Wanli); the new tower is 9 years later, Wutai Mountain Gaochun Miaofeng (Fuden) and the shanghai continued to be built.
After the completion, it will be called the Xuanten Tower together with the old tower.
In the early Qing Dynasty, the mountain gate was rebuilt, and the temple and temple were perfected, forming a small-scale temple. However, in the war years, the ancient temple suffered from vicissitudes of life, and by the end of the Republic of China, it was already devastated and bruised.
After the founding of New China, it was repaired several times. Newly built monuments, imitation of the front yard, and planting peony, make the ancient temple look new.
In the courtyard of the monument, there are more than 200 stone carvings of the Bao Xian Tang Ji Gu Fa Tie and Gu Bao Xian Tang Fa Tie carved by the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Most of the buildings are Ming Dynasty buildings. The local chronicles of the past dynasties have regarded the Lingyu Twin Towers as one of the eight scenic spots in Taiyuan, which is the symbol of Taiyuan.
The temple is built on the south side of the temple, including the temple, the tower courtyard, and the monument gallery. The total area is 120,000 square meters.
From the north side of the mountain gate, the first entrance was built in the 1980s by imitation of the Ming Dynasty. The hatchback is a hall, and it is a showroom, called the exhibition hall.
