Lugu is a beautiful township located in the southwest of Nantou County. Due to its diverse landforms and mild climate, Lugu has a relatively rich natural and tourism resources. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and mountainous landscape, Lugu practically becomes one of the well-received tourist destinations. The township is also close to a considerable number of famous scenic spots, including Sitou Forest Amusement Park, Siaobantian, National Fonghuanggu Bird Park, NTU Tea Garden, Kilin Lake and more.
In addition to these unique elements, the Lugu Township Office has cultivated a large number of cherry tree varieties in recent years. During the flowering season of cherry trees, the entire hilltop is covered with pinkish-red cherry blossom and the air is filled with the nose-pleasing fragrance.
If travelers would like to appreciate the delicacy of cherry blossom, there are several ideal locations for viewing flower, such as Siaobantian Stone Horse Park, NTU Tea Garden, Siaobantian Community, Heya Village, etc.
In the meantime, Lugu is also famous for its diversity of agricultural products, including tea, coffee beans, bamboo shoots, tea plum, mountain celery, Zuoshui rice and so on. Among that, Dongdong Oolong Tea and winter bamboo shoots are two most characteristic locally sourced agricultural products.
