Getting ready for my move, I have started the process of looking for a place to live in Zhongshan. I have just a few weeks to get settled before I officially transfer. In this video I take a look at 3 apartments (studio, 2, and 3 bedrooms). They are in different parts of the city… good and bad for all of them. I don’t need much as I’m very much a minimalist.
In addition, I take a look at a new mall with a giant gym across from one of the apartments and I also give a quick look at where I am staying, the Sunshine Business Hotel in the West District of Zhongshan

Today was my official moving day; but I had a lot to do. Besides starting out the day with some Pizza Hut breakfast and getting all my stuff down to the new apartment, I also had to check in with the local police department and register as all foreigners have to do. I also stopped by Metro for some shopping, attended a Chinese corner, and then braved a giant thunder storm to meet some friends for a little R&R. Busy day; got a lot done.

Today, I ventured off to Cuiheng Village in Central Zhongshan. It’s an area of the city that is surprising not easy to get to using public transportation and a taxi would cost a pretty penny. However, once you get here, it’s amazing.
The entire area is preserved. You can’t take pictures inside the house, but it’s free to get in. I was the only foreigner in the area and they made that known. It’s great little tour of Chinese history and the museum has a 1st class exhibits.
Afterwards I met up with some of my friends downtown for a little late night street BBQ and beers. It was a fun, late night.
