Exhausting hike through the Xihai Grand Canyon, Huanshan, China. A hike through the Xihai Grand Canyon is 9.6 kilometers long and takes approximately 5-7 hours. It may not seem long, but its very challenging considering that you're descending and ascending mountains, going through tens of thousands of man-made steps.

West Sea Grand Canyon a long loop that goes around the western portion of Yellow Mountain. Looking at the Google Earth, you will find the Canyan is much like a huge U;, surrounded by many dominating peaks, such as Danxia Peak, Stone Pillar Peak, Stone Bed Peak, Nine Dragons Peak, Flying-over the Rock, etc. It has two entrances: Dispelling Clouds Pavilion and Fairy Walking Bridge. Dispelling Clouds Pavilion, known as the Northern Entrance, is located at the top of the canyon where you can walk about 2hrs down to the bottom of the West Sea Grand Canyon. You can get to Dispelling Clouds Pavilion from Beihai Hotel, Xihai Hotel, Shilin Hotel and Paiyunlou Hotel easily within a half hour. Travelling from Yungu Cableway to Dispelling Clouds Pavilion takes about 2 hours. Fairy-walking Bridge is located at Tianhai area, about 1hr’s walking from Baiyun Hotel and Bright Summit, and about 2~3 hours walking from Beihai Hotel, Xihai Hotel. Starting from Yuping Cableway, you have to walk around 3~4 hours to get to the Fairy-walking Bridge.
