World's Most Brutal Prison is in China

Tie Liu, a well-known writer in China,
published an article entitled,
The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Prisons
Are the Darkest and Most Brutal Prisons in the World.
He described the different types of torture methods used
in the prisons, and that he and his friends have experienced.
He said that he especially recommends this article and
hopes that all kind people in the world know the darkness and brutality of the CCP's prisons.
In China's prisons, besides the prison cells
which hold several people together,
they also have solitary confinement rooms for
detaining individual prisoners.
In different places, the solitary confinement room goes by
different names, such as Small Prison, Individual Prison and Small Jail.
The Small Prison in Xinhua Labor Camp Sulfur Plant of
Xingwen county, Sichuan province,
is 1.5 meters' high, 1.8 meters' long and 1.5 meters' wide.
It's made of stone and has no windows,
and doesn't allow the prisoner to go out which means
the prisoner has to eat, drink, excrete and sleep inside.
Tie Liu said he was detained in one of these for three months.
Tie Liu was former editor of Chengdu Daily, he was
named Right Wing in the Anti-Rightist campaign of 1957.
He was then jailed and tortured for 23 years,
and because he hadn't accepted the crimes he was accused of
his crime was escalated to the label of Anti-Revolutionary.
He was put on the receiving end of many a torture instrument,
I've suffered of all the torture methods they have he said.
Most recently, he recommended a memoir from Niu Lihua,
who lives in Chongqing and has similar experience to his.
In the memoir Niu describes the tortures he faced in prison.
Tie Liu said the only means he can use to oppose the tyranny,
is recording the behaviors of the tyranny,
and his fellow sufferer Niu Lihua has recorded it
in even further detail.
He believes that all the kind people of the world should know
the darkness and brutality of the CCP's prisons.
Tang Jingling, a Guangdong lawyer: I agree with Mr. Tie Liu
very much, and he exposed the dark prison culture,
an extremely dark prison culture
which is a stain on Chinese culture.
The main torture I had faced is one that many of my friends
have experienced, which is that they don't allow you to sleep.
This is a relatively modern torture method which is used often.
The article described that Niu Lihua has been out of
prison for more than 30 years,
and is seeing the CCTV, newspapers and other media
use People oriented, harmonious society as a slogan,
but, in fact, detention center guards often use unrelenting
and excessive means,
and there is continually bizarre news of people
who Died from hide and seek game, Died from drinking hot water, and so on.
Now even more city urban administrative officers use
violence to rule, the excessive use of punishment by the military and police is anti-constitutional.
Niu Lihua mentioned in his memoir that
the People's Daily reported on May 25, 1979 that
Zhang Zhixin was detained in a Small Jail
in which she could neither sit, lie down, nor stand.
This tenacious woman finally lost her sanity after few days.
In addition, Li Wangyang, a Hunan democrat,
had been detained in the coffin capsule many times.
Tang Jingling, a Guangdong lawyer: Recently,
netizens are focusing on the Dalian corpse factory
because the factory explained that
the bodies are obtained from Chinese police.
Actually, the CCP government uses the names of prisoners
who'd been given the death penalty, to kill more people illegally.
Even we know that the death of people in detention centers
are likely unnatural deaths, there's no legal process involved.
Zhu Keming was detained illegally, was tortured for 5 years
and lost all his belongs just because
he raised a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and
other senior CCP leaders.
He told NTD that he was tortured with serious physical abuse
in black jails, and the tortures he suffered included beating by
electric batons, electric shocking, punching, slapping, kicking,
long-term kneeling, overnight interrogation,
sleep deprivation for days on end, pouring cold water
into cotton-padded clothes in winter,
pouring boiling water on the hands and feet
in summer,
tying up, hanging and beating, limbs were fixed
on a iron bed for a long time, and so on.
A very common torture was to handcuff the arms behind the
back, and handcuffing the wrists to shackles on the feet.
Zhu keming, the first person to sue Jiang Zemin:
It's not one bit of an overstatement to say that the CCP's prisons are the most brutal and dark places.

I take an afternoon walk through Chongqing, China, one of the largest cities in China with an urban population of around 18.4 million. Chongqing is one of my personal favorite cities, with a skyline that beats out both Shanghai and Hong Kong, a grungy cyberpunk atmosphere, and a plethora of narrow, winding, and chaotic streets.

China leadership hopes fade for Guangdong, Chongqing party bosses: SCMP
中, 후계설 엇갈리는 천민얼과 후춘화
Elsewhere aroud the world.
China is holding its Communist Party Congress.
Two high level officials who had been considered strong contenders to one day succeed President Xi Jinping... appear less likely now to be promoted in that direction.
That's according to the South China Morning Post, which cites sources with knowledge of top-level party discussions.
Party chief of Chongqing, Chen Min-er,... and his counterpart in Guangdong,... Hu Chunhua,... are not likely to make it into the seven-member Politburo Standing Committee this time.
If that's the case, there may not be a potential successor to Xi as a member.
That could add to speculation Beijing's leader intends to stay in power longer than his second term.
But sources say it's too early to tell, and it could indicate Xi is not satisfied with China's power transition system.

Chinese Car+Motorcycle Accident
The Shove Behind Chongqing's Suspect Mass Protest
Follow us on TWITTER:
Like us on FACEBOOK:
At 11pm on April 10th, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
announced the removal of former Chongqing party secretary
Bo Xilai (in office for over four years) prompting a two day
protest by 10, 000 people singing Red Songs in Chongqing.
The protest seems to be supporting Bo, but in this sensitive
situation, who does hope for chaos in China?
And who is the person behind this?
The CCP's mouthpiece media Xinhua News Agency reported
the news at 11pm of April 10 that Bo was under investigation.
The next day, major media and websites reported this news
on their front pages.
Meanwhile, the People's Daily published comments in support
of the so-called central decision.
Sources said that directors above city-level of the propaganda
department arrived in Beijing on Apr.10 to speak with one voice.
On the afternoon of April 10th, 10,000+ people in Wansheng
District in Chongqing held protest against the merging of Qijiang county.
Thousands of police came to suppress the
protest causing serious conflicts with protesters.
Public suspected the protest has the following background:
the merging of Wansheng District with Qijiang county was
decided by Bo Xilai in his reign in Chongqing last October.
Now the protest broke out just in the special period when the
CCP is handling Bo Xilai's case. The timing is suspect.
The online video uploaded by Wansheng locals shows that
the protesters gathered around a large man in a hat.
The man took the lead in chanting slogans and singing red-
songs. People around him became excited.
Someone questioned, are they expressing their emotions of
supporting Bo Xilai?
Xia Xiaoqiang: If we have a close look, the root cause of
this clash stems from the policy advocated by Bo Xilai.
The piled-up popular discontent erupted at this time, clearly
showing a helping hand behind the scenes by someone who wants Hu & Wen to bear the guilt.
Zhang Tianliang, professor at George Mason University notes
that protesters haven't shown the usual anger and sadness.
In light of the current situation, the person who wants most to
stir up social chaos is Zhou Yongkang, Zhang thinks.
Zhang Tianliang: Because he (Zhou Yongkang) will find
an excuse, i.e. not giving the people any hope.
His excuse is that if the oppression is weakened, civilians will
rise up to fight for their own interests and rights.
If not using violence to suppress it, similar protests will quickly
sweep the country.
So in order to safeguard stability, the CCP regime still needs
Zhou Yongkang.
Zhou thinks that he should be the beneficiary of this clash.
Go directly after the chief villain, Zhang Tianliang adds that
Bo has been captured, but the ringleader has not been caught.
Zhang Tianliang: Bo Xilai has lost ground, yet Zhou is likely
to create trouble. The red-song singing campaign is still going on.
Like the red-song singing activity held at Beijing's
Jingshan Park two days ago.
So I figure that under such a kind of threat, Hu&Wen may
be more determined to quickly remove and arrest Zhou.
Xia Xiaoqiang reviews the blood-debt clan represented by
Zhou Yongkang and Li Changchun.
Fearing being brought to trial, the clan has long controlled the
media, the police and armed police troops.
In the name of safeguarding stability, they blocked the web
and arrested people.
The blood-debt clan attempted to make Hu & Wen into
scapegoats, awaiting the chance to initiate a coup, says Xia.
Xia Xiaoqiang: Zhou Yongkang is exerting himself to stir up
nation-wide troubles.
He hopes that the whole country presents the same chaos as
in Chongqing.
If Hu & Wen could quickly remove and catch Zhou Yongkang,
his followers will rapidly be defeated and dispersed.
Since Bo Xilai's downfall, Jiang's clique rapidly defected and
pledged their loyalty to Hu Jingtao.
So if Hu & Wen can decisively launch an attack by publicly
arresting Zhou Yongkang, neither private nor public will come to harm but only benefit.
Xia Xiaoqiang thinks that the best action that Hu & Wen
should take now is to bring persecutors to justice.
These criminals include Jiang Zemin, Zhou Yongkang,
among others.
In this way, Hu & Wen could give the public an explanation,
then disintegrate the CCP to complete their historic mission.

Horrific Scenes Still Haunt Nanjing Massacre Survivor
The horrific scenes of the 1937 Nanjing Massacre still haunt those who survived, while they live each day with the hope that the Japanese government will someday apologize for slaughtering their loved ones.
More than 300,000 Chinese were killed inhumanly by the Japanese troops in Nanjing between December 13, 1937 and January 1938.
Less than 100 documented survivors of the Nanjing Massacre are still alive. Yang Cuiying, 93, is one of them, and she still hasn’t been able to get rid of the dark hours when she lost her family right in front of her eyes.
During a period when the city got continuously bombed by the Japanese troops, the then capital Nanjing was relocated to southwest China’s Chongqing. While the rich fled, those with no money and nowhere else to go stayed back and gathered at the city's refugee camps.
On December 13, 1937, Japanese troops invaded the camps and slaughtered those living inside with rifles and bayonets, Yang recalled.
I was only 12; I was young. My father was only in his thirties. I asked my father to hold my baby brother, and I knelt down in front of the Japanese begging not to kill my father. They hit me and I lost my hearing ability in one ear. Their rifles were this long, with a bayonet attached; that was what they killed my father with, recalled Yang with a heavy voice.
Yang lost even her little brother during the massacre.
And then, they killed my uncle, and my grandfather as well. They stomped my baby brother to death with their big leather boots. He was only two years old. The streets were filled with dead bodies. They killed everyone, more than 300,000 civilians, said Yang.
Five days after Yang's father was killed, her mother gave birth to a baby. The Japanese burned down their old house, leaving them with no food. As a result, the baby starved to death and her mother turned blind from crying day and night.
In an effort to save her family from starvation, Yang soon started working in a Japanese factory - sewing buttons for 12 hours a day. Talking with a fellow worker would only result in beating. They were given quarter of a kilogram of rice and quarter of a kilogram of dried sea buckthorns as their daily wage. She was still at work on August 15, 1945, the day Japan surrendered.
Yang who has lived all her life with the hope that someday Japanese government will make an official apology looks at it as a consolation.
We suffered all the miseries that were there. Our families were killed; and those who survived suffered as well. I can’t forget. I struggle to hold back my tears whenever I think of my father, said Yang.
Yang wants to live just to hear Japan apologize for their brutal killings.
I'm 93 years old now. I don't know if I will live to hear that, she said.

Knife-wielding terrorists kill at least 33 in savage Chinese train station attack
BEIJING (AP) - More than 10 knife-wielding attackers slashed people at a train station in southwestern China late Saturday in what authorities called a terrorist attack by Uighur separatists, and police fatally shot four of the assailants, leaving 33 people dead and 130 others wounded, state media said.
The attackers, most of them dressed in black, stormed the Kunming train station in Yunnan province and started attacking people in the late evening, witness Yang Haifei told the official Xinhua News Agency from a hospital where he was being treated for chest and back wounds.
I saw a person come straight at me with a long knife and I ran away with everyone, he told Xinhua, adding that people who were slower ended up severely injured. They just fell on the ground, Yang said.
One suspect was arrested, Xinhua said. Evidence found at the scene of the attack showed that it was a terrorist attack carried out by Xinjiang separatist forces, the agency quoted the municipal government as saying. Authorities considered it to be an organized, premeditated violent terrorist attack.
The far western region of Xinjiang is home to a simmering rebellion against Chinese rule by separatists among parts of the Muslim Uighur (pronounced WEE'-gur) population.
Most attacks blamed on Uighur separatists take place in Xinjiang, but Saturday's assault took place more than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) to the southeast in Yunnan, which has not had a history of such unrest. However, a suicide car attack blamed on Uighur separatists that killed five people at Beijing's Tiananmen Gate last November raised alarms that militants may be aiming to strike at targets throughout the country.
In an indication of how seriously authorities viewed the attack - one of China's deadliest in recent years - the country's top police official, Politburo member Meng Jianzhu, was on route to Kunming, the Communist Party-run People's Daily reported.
The violence in Kunming came at a sensitive time as political leaders in Beijing prepared for Wednesday's opening of the annual meeting of the nominal legislature where the government of President Xi Jinping will deliver its first one-year work report.
Xi called for all-out efforts to bring the culprits to justice. In a statement, the Security Management Bureau under the Ministry of Public Security said that police will crack down the crimes in accordance with the law without any tolerance.
A Xinhua reporter on the scene in Kunming said several suspects had been controlled while police continued their investigation of people at the train station. The reporter said firefighters and emergency medical personnel were at the station and rushing injured people to hospitals for treatment.
Authorities said five suspects were shot dead but that their identities had not yet been confirmed, and police were hunting for the remaining attackers, Xinhua reported. The news agency said 29 people described as civilians were confirmed dead and 130 injured.
More than 60 victims of Saturday's attack were taken to Kunming No. 1 People's Hospital, where at least a dozen bodies also could be seen, according to Xinhua reporters at the hospital.
At a guard pavilion in front of the train station, three victims were crying. One of them, Yang Ziqing, told Xinhua that they were waiting for a train to Shanghai when a knife-wielding man suddenly came at them.
My two town-fellows' husbands have been rushed to hospital, but I can't find my husband, and his phone went unanswered, Yang sobbed.
Footage on China's state broadcaster CCTV showed a heavy police presence near the station and plainclothes agents wrapping a long knife in a plastic bag as investigators collected evidence following the attacks.
Pictures on Sina Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, showed bodies covered in blood at the station.
The Kunming railway station, located in the southeastern area of the city, is one of the largest in southwest China.

Xinhua Supports Guangdong to Weaken PLC
Follow us on TWITTER:
Like us on FACEBOOK:
According to Chinese media, the Director of Public Security
in Guangdong Province will not serve as the Secretary
of the Political and Legislative Committee (PLC).
This has happened in another 21 cities.
Xinhua Net, the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP)
official media, cited the report on June 4.
From the evidence Xinhua Net supports weakening
the PLC, analysts believe that
the second power center and Zhou Yongkang's time
have come to end. Here is more information.
There have recently been rumors about the suppression
and degradation of the PLC.
According to Southern Metropolitan Daily,
owned by Southern Daily Group in Guangdong,
PLC secretaries will not serve as public security
bureau directors after re-election.
Cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan,
and Meizhou have made this change one by one.
In 21 cities, deputy mayors will take the place of PLC
secretaries, serving as public security bureau directors.
Before 1998, the central PLC wasn't
an important organization.
However, after Jiang Zemin started persecuting Falun Gong,
the PLC expanded its power drastically. It became the second power center.
Zhang Sutian, current affairs commentator, said that after
Jiang Zemin took power, and in order to carry out
the persecution, many public security bureau directors
became PLC secretaries, maximizing their power.
Zhang Sutian: As a result, many local public security
bureaus abuse their power.
Courts and procuratorate actually have no power
and have to obey public security bureau directors.
The consequent chaos in China's justice system
has made people suffer.
Complaints can be heard everywhere,
which increases the CCP's crisis.
According to statistics by Southern Metropolitan Daily
reporters, since the reelection at the end of last year,
14 local areas such as Foshan and Dongguan
changed PLC secretaries.
In some other areas, changes have been made
to the responsibilities that PLC secretaries hold.
Official media Xinhua Net, published the whole article
from Southern Metropolitan Daily.
Zhang Sutian, current affairs commentator,
said that Xinhua Net had related reports this time.
These were more obviously manipulated
by Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao.
Other sources reveal that the Central PLC will no longer
enter the Central Politburo Standing Committee.
Zhang Sutian: After Wang Lijun's case and the conspiracy
between Bo Xilai and Zhou Yongkang to oust Xi Jinping was exposed,
the security of the CCP itself got threatened
by the PLC.
According to latest information, the PLC,
as the second power center, as well as the power of Zhou Yongkang, has come to an end.
The PLC, under the control of Zhou Yongkang has for many
years has expanded it's violence to maintain stabilization.
People have called on the central government
to get rid of PLC.
This includes Mao Yushi, Chairman of Beijing Tianze
Economics Institute and Yu Jianrong, sociologist at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
It also includes He Weifang, law professor
at Peking University and Zhang Zanning, law professor at Southeast University.
According to commentator Hong Jian,
if the PLC cannot directly lead public security bureaus, its main power is actually deprived.
Hong Jian: This indicates Hu and Wen's test
on the blood-debt faction.
To cut the connection between the PLC
and the public security bureau, their key step is removing Zhou Yongkang.
Writer Wu Jianguo believes that the power of the PLC
has threatened the security of the CCP's core members.
Wu Jianguo: Hu and Wen weakened the PLC's power.
One of the reasons is that they were aware
of the PLC's expanded power.
It has not only led to corruption, but threatened
the key leaderships at different levels.
Meanwhile, it shows Hu and Wen's
capability of suppressing the PLC.
Zhou Yongkang, as the head of the PLC,
and part of Jiang Zemin's blood-debt faction, has lost his power.
He can no longer maintain the PLC privileges.
But Wu Jianguo pointed out that suppressing
the PLC doesn't mean the CCP will then step into judicial independence.
If Hu and Wen have the inclination,
they should completely remove the PLC.
They should let law-enforcement authorities operate
based on law, rather than under the CCP's command.
