The Deadliest River in the World // This is Western China
After a few missteps, we made it to the Yellow River in Gui'de, Qinghai. The beauty of the river here does not match the deadliness of its waters. The Yellow river has killed more people than any other river in the world. Floods have caused famines, spread diseases, and drowned many innocent people. I discuss the two most deadly natural disasters in the world, why the river floods, and more.
To get to Gui'de, you can take a bus from the South Mountain bus station in Xining (Nanshan zhan - 南山站). From there, it's a beautiful 2 hour drive. Gui'de is a small town with a few interesting sights, but mostly it's a place to relax and hangout while experiencing the Tibetan culture and the Hui Muslim culture in China.

Hexi Corridor | Wikipedia audio article

Hexi Corridor
Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written
language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through
audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio
while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using
a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Hexi Corridor (Chinese: 河西走廊; pinyin: Héxī Zǒuláng; Wade–Giles: Ho2-hsi1 Tsou3-lang2, Xiao'erjing: حْسِ ظِوْلاْ, IPA: /xɤ˧˥ɕi˥ tsoʊ˨˩˦lɑŋ˧˥/) or Gansu Corridor refers to the historical route in Gansu province of China. As part of the Northern Silk Road running northwest from the bank of the Yellow River, it was the most important route from North China to the Tarim Basin and Central Asia for traders and the military. The corridor is a string of oases along the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. To the south is the high and desolate Tibetan Plateau and to the north, the Gobi Desert and the grasslands of Outer Mongolia. At the west end the route splits in three, going either north of the Tian Shan or south on either side of the Tarim Basin. At the east end are mountains around Lanzhou before one reaches the Wei River valley and China proper.
