One month ago today - and tomorrow ^_^ - I enJOYed the FABulous
opportunity of driving out to the local *NOLA Motorsports Park* (Avondale,
LA, USA) because an article posted to 'IMSA.com' advertised a two-
-day multi-session track test. The participants were various teams currently
competing in two well-known sports car series: (a) Porsche GT3 Cup USA
(Presented by Yokohama); (b) Cooper Tires Prototype Lites (Powered by Mazda).
Testing was in preparation for the series' upcoming inaugural races at the
venue, to be held in conjunction with INDYCAR's inaugural visit, for a
MASsive HIStory-MAking WEEKEND CELebRAtion =^__^= coming this April !!!

The IndyCar Grand Prix Of Louisiana will also be held on the same weekend as the French Quarter Festival, which has been called the biggest free music festival in the United States and last year, it had over 732,000 people attend, so there will be a wild atmosphere in New Orleans. Although let's face it, there usually is anyway. This could be a huge boost for the IndyCar Grand Prix Of Louisiana in terms of attendance.

The ribbon was cut on NOLA Motorsports Park in 2011. With a construction cost of $62 million by owner Laney Chouest and the help of architect Alan Wilson, it took almost three years for the project to come to fruition. They broke ground back in 2009 and it took a couple of years to finalize the project until finally opened up in 2011.
This track has hosted events such as the AMA Pro Racing Superbike Championship as well as an Indy Lights (which is IndyCar's developmental series) event before IndyCar decides to bring their open-wheel cars here. There was no major racing event at the track in 2013.
The race will be held on the North Track, which is 2.75 miles long (4.42 km), and there are 16 turns that IndyCar's finest will have to navigate. However, when the South Track is complete and the two are connected, NOLA Motorsports Park will be the longest race track in the United States at 5.37 miles (8.64 km) and an outlandish 27 turns. That would be a very difficult test for the top open-wheel drivers in the country, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

This is my experience riding my first race in the USA, the CBR criterium in Carson. I got upgraded straight away into category 2 so was racing the pro/cat1/cat2 race. Did not know what to expect and learned a lot that day! *edit: I put the wrong date in end title, this was 2017 obviously!

How to Minimize the Pain of Getting a Tattoo

Getting a tattoo will never be a walk in the park, but it can be less painful if you take a few simple precautions.
Step 1:
Go to a licensed tattoo artist who sterilizes their equipment and uses disposable needles and gloves. The discomfort of getting tattooed is nothing compared to the pain of getting an infection from it.
Step 2:
Schedule your tattoo for the morning. This is when your pain tolerance is highest, thanks to peak levels of adrenaline, a hormone that helps us endure pain.
Step 3:
Wear loose clothes, especially if they are going to be covering your new tattoo.
Step 4:
Eat something before you go to reduce the chances of passing out from a combination of nerves and hunger.
Step 5:
Take a non-aspirin pain reliever like ibuprofen about 20 minutes before the procedure.
Tip
Don't drink alcohol or take aspirin in the 24 hours beforehand; it will thin your blood, increasing bleeding.
Step 6:
Choose an area of your body that has more flesh and less bone and nerve endings, like biceps, calves, and thighs, rather than bony areas or nerve centers like the rib cage, top of foot, and abdomen.
Step 7:
Know what to expect. The pain is often described as a cat scratching your sunburned skin. Breathe deeply, focus on your breath, and try not to move. The post-tattoo pain will feel the same, minus the cat.
Step 8:
During the procedure, if the pain is intense, your tattoo artist can apply a topical anesthetic. Think carefully before you ask for one; side effects include a longer healing time and a loss of color in the finished product.
Warning
Applying excess amounts of a high-concentration topical anesthetic and covering up the tattoo afterward can result in seizures.
Step 9:
Follow the tattoo artist's instructions regarding aftercare. The tattoo should heal in about three weeks, during which time you shouldn't swim or expose it to the sun. After that, go ahead and flaunt it!
