First time in 65MPH TaG karts || Atlanta Motorsports Park
I got to test drive TaG Senior karts for the first time yesterday at AMPs 1B karting school! The school was basically just hot laps without much (any) instruction.
The instructor was in front of me and we weren’t allowed to pass when driving TaG. Earlier in the day we drove LO206 karts with passing.

Max speed: 65.6 MPH
Track length: .77 miles
Max lateral accel: 1.5-1.6 g (steady state)
Max FWD accel: .4-.6 (hard to tell bc it’s bumpy)
Weather: very cold
Driver weight: 190lb+ with gear
Data Acquisition: VBOX Sport attached to helmet
Camera: GoPro Hero 3+ (1080p @60fps)
I was calibrated to the rental karts here at AMP (after driving the 10hr Enduro in Oct). Driving the rental karts is all about keeping momentum. Stepping up to TaG was fun because I had to adapt the line/technique for the power. I never quite got a late enough apex in turn 2, and the turn 9-10-11 section (hairpin into esses). I’m sure there are other areas to clean up.
Notice I caught air in turn 5! For example @8:08 to 8:11

Ad Agency Response To N.Carolina’s Anti LGBT Hate Law in toilet paper #FlushHB2
As the financial fallout from North Carolina’s new anti-LGBT law continues to grow, at least one advertising firm located in the Tar Heel state has added its voice to the debate with a hilariously appropriate response.
Durham-based McKinney has designed a customized toilet paper with the discriminatory HB 2 bill printed in its entirety throughout each roll.
“We think it’s time to flush North Carolina’s House Bill 2, and we think you probably agree with us,” the company said in a statement. “To make that safer for city plumbing, we’ve printed the entire bill on rolls of toilet paper.”
The agency is promoting the #FlushHB2 hashtag to spread the word and has continued to supply businesses rolls, They have passed along these easy to follow instructions for anyone intending to use the rolls.
“1. Install it in a restroom.
2. Use segments as cocktail napkins, bookmarks, shopping bag tissue paper or facial tissues prior to flushing
3. TP a section of your public space, such as your entryway or behind your bar, and flush at day’s end”

FALL BRAWL 125 Recap!
Kernersville, NC Driver Claims Second Series Win & Extends Point Lead (Rougemont, NC):
The “Fall Brawl 125” for the KOMA Unwind Modified Madness Series changed from a brawl into a battle for Burt Myers Saturday night as he had to battle from deep in the pack after a long caution period pit stop in the return to Orange County Speedway for the first time in six years to one of the best crowds of the season at the super-fast 3/8 mile track. Myers qualified his Modified on the pole for the event followed by his brother Jason, Spencer Davis and Tim Brown but it was no walk-in-the-park for the win. B. Myers grabbed the point at the start and Davis slipped into second on the opening lap and hounded Myers for a couple more laps before a power move put the Dawsonville, GA driver in the lead for the next 63. That reign came to an end on lap 66 when someone dumped a water bottle in the turn four groove bringing out the second caution period of the night. Most of the front running teams headed to pit road under the caution period for a fresh Hoosier tire and adjustments to their cars. Most were quick stops but B. Myers stayed on pit road for some extra adjustments as well as his tire change.
When racing resumed, Bobby Sheffield was at the point but that was short lived as Davis charged back to the point on the lap after the green flag flew. Davis held the top spot with Brewer, Brown, the Myers Brothers, Johnny Sutton and Jeremy Mayfield banging it out for the next spots. A great night for Davis came to an end on lap 85 when the right front tire went down on the Hillbilly Racing Modified sending Davis hard into the turn three wall. He was unhurt, except for his pride, but the #79 was finished for the night. Brewer took over the lead and appeared headed towards another KOMA Unwind win but the caution flew again three laps later when the Propst Racing team took the hard luck award of the night when team cars driven by Danny Propst and Mark Johnson tangled on the front stretch collecting the cars of Tom Buzze and “Tiger” Tommy Neal. Neal continued but Buzze, Propst and Johnson were eliminated. Brewer grabbed the lead on the restart but the caution allowed Myers to stay close with Jason Myers right behind and Brown and Sutton giving chase. B. Myers stalked Brewer before powering past entering turn three on lap 105. It was clear sailing from there as he finished .749 seconds ahead of Brewer, Jason Myers and a fast closing Brown. Sutton rounded out the top five with Mayfield in sixth and Mike Norman in seventh for his best KOMA Unwind finish. Sheffield, Mike Speeney and Neal rounded out the top ten.
The Southern Modified Race Tour KOMA Unwind Modified Madness Series wraps up the inaugural season at Myrtle Beach Speedway on November 22 & 23 with the Late Model Stocks in the “Myrtle Beach 400” weekend.

Why Don’t Those Who’ve Died Communicate With Us More? -- Swedenborg and Life
If people’s spirits live on after their bodies die, why don’t they come back daily and talk to everyone they love? Why do some people get visited by a loved one who has passed on while others don’t? Join us, along with Dr. Jonathan Rose as we discuss Swedenborg's accounts of his spiritual experiences and what he learned through them.

“There are three heavens, very clearly distinguished from each other. There is a central or third heaven, an intermediate or second one, and an outmost or first. These follow in sequence and are interdependent, like the highest part of the human body, the head; the middle, or torso; and the lowest, or feet...The deeper levels of the human mind and disposition are in a similar pattern as well. We have a central, intermediate, and outmost nature. This is because when humanity was created the whole divine design was gathered into it, to the point that as to structure, the human being is the divine design and is therefore a heaven in miniature.” -HH 29-30
“The heavenly kingdom is the third and deepest heaven. The spiritual kingdom is the second or middle heaven...people in the heavenly kingdom, have love for the Lord at their core and charitable feelings toward their neighbor on the outside. People in the spiritual kingdom, though, have charitable feelings toward their neighbor at their core and a faith resulting from charity on the outside. Clearly, then, charity toward one’s neighbor forms the bond between the two kingdoms. The heavenly kingdom ends with it, and the spiritual kingdom begins with it....so each takes up where the other leaves off.” - AC 5922
“There are three inner levels of every angel and spirit, and of every person here as well. The people whose third level has been opened are in the central heaven, while the people whose second or first only has been opened are in the intermediate or the outmost heaven. The deeper levels are opened by our acceptance of divine good and divine true gifts.” -HH 33
“People who are actually affected by divine true gifts and let them directly into their lives-into their intentions and therefore into act-are in the central or third heaven...people who do not let such gifts directly into their intentions, but into their memory and from there into their discernment, intending and doing them as a result of this process, are in the intermediate or second heaven. People who live good moral lives, though, and believe in the Divine with no particular interest in learning, are in the outmost or first heaven.” -HH 33

New teen driving program saving lives, offering deals
It's National Teen Driver Safety week, and sadly wrecks are still the number one cause of death for teenagers. Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville has launched a new teen driving program called the Drive to Thrive.
It's pedal to the metal for this unconventional teen driving course. Atlanta Motorsports Park CEO Jeremy Porter launched Drive to Thrive, to help young drivers avoid his own mistakes.
When I was 16 years old, I got into a very serious accident with my best friend and a couple of people. He ended up breaking his neck, and I broke my back in 3 places. It was for lack of training, and I went off the road, yanked the wheel back on and we flipped multiple times into a concrete sign, said Porter.
The professional drivers hit the basics: working on wheel and seat positioning, as well as mirrors and the proper place to put your hands. But what sets them apart from other programs, is the in-car teaching.
To prepare the young drivers for more dangerous situations, they will take a ride on a state of the art skid pad, which can simulate driving on ice or losing control in heavy rain.
They're going to run into a place where they hydroplane, or someone pulls out in front of them, or an animal runs out in front of them and they have to have that muscle memory and that experience immediately, said Porter.
Atlanta Motorsports Park is also offering a buy one, get one free deal, helping to reach teen drivers who may not be able to afford their class.
We want to impact as many teens as possible, so what we're doing is everyone who buys one, we're going to be giving one away to the school program and the school determines who are the kids in need, said Porter.
Some more advice from the pros, when you do find yourself in trouble losing control of the vehicle, they say sometimes slamming on your brakes or jerking the wheel can make things worse.
Instead, keep your eyes up and locked in on where you want the car to go, foot off the pedals, and your hands will generally follow and settle the vehicle in the right direction.
The Drive to Thrive class costs $295, but again for every one purchased, one will be donated to a teenager in need.

Watch more How to Take Care of a Pet Sugar Glider videos:
Many of what people consider to be drawbacks of owning a sugar glider probably relate to natural behavior of sugar gliders and all of the elements of captive care. Certainly, their nocturnal behavior and nocturnal lifestyle is probably considered to be one of the biggest drawbacks of owning sugar gliders. They are most active at night. That is the time that they are awake, the time that they may be playing, exploring, eating and performing most of their normal social activities at the time that we're asleep. That being said, it is possible to spend time with your sugar glider during the day. However their preference is going to be to get back to sleep, get into their pouches or go back to their cage as soon as they can and would prefer to maintain and continue a nocturnal lifestyle.
There's also the consideration of whether having a large cage in your home is a drawback to owning them. As opposed to other pets that don't need to be caged, you're going to have to have the space and the room and have to be able to keep the cage clean and presentable enough so that it doesn't present a problem, doesn't create a source of odors, and isn't unappealing in the look of your home if it's placed in a main room, like a living room and which is certainly recommended for socialization.
There is a strong time commitment to having a sugar glider when you first adopt them. Socializing them, handling them, spending a lot of time getting them used to you and the home and the environment is definitely part of raising a well-adjusted sugar glider, but it requires a time commitment that many people don't have. Also, the commitment to feeding them properly can be a bit complicated and a little bit costly. The need to devote time every day to preparing fresh foods is a requirement. The need to keep insects and to go to the pet store frequently enough to buy insects to keep as part of their diet. Sugar glider commercial diets are not always readily available and many people have to rely on ordering these on the internet in order to acquire them, as most pet stores may not stock them as well. Sugar gliders as well generally are not very vocal, but there are times where in the middle of the night, when they are awake and alert, they may start vocalizing and it may create a little bit of noise, but for the most part, sugar gliders tend to be fairly quiet.
So overall, there aren't a lot of drawbacks to owning a sugar glider as long as you're prepared, educated, and aware of what it's going to take to properly care for them, provide and meet their nutritional requirements and also, understand what it's like to own and live with them.
