In September 2012, over a period of 18 days and nights, five flames were gathered from five Buddhist mountains in China (Wutai, Emei, Putuo, Jiuhua, and Xuedou) and placed together at the 2012 Maitreya Cultural Festival. The flames symbolized loving-kindness, compassion, wisdom, aspiration, and action. These flames were transferred to the newly-constructed Peace Hall during the 2013 Maitreya Cultural Festival, as shown in this video.

Located in the scenic Xuedou Mountain in Fenghua, Zhejiang Province, Xuedou Temple has a history of more than 1,600 years. It is one of the Ten Great Zen Temples in China and is the site of the bodhimandala of Maitreya – the smiling Buddha. Nicknamed the laughing Buddha, Maitreya is a favorite icon in Chinese culture. The temple attracts a large number of eminent monks and pilgrims.

Hey and welcome to my first ever try on a vlog. I'm in China, Ninbo studying for one year.
A few weeks ago me and a friend went on a short daytrip into the mountains to enjoy the sunshine and get to see some of Chinas beautifull nature. This was on of the multiple waterfalls at Xuedou Shan near Ningbo, Zhejiang province China.
