YS Falls Jamaica
YS Falls Jamaica. The YS Falls in Jamaica were only one of our excursions in Jamaica / St. Elizabeth. See one of the best jamaican waterfalls and feel this total refreshness with your eyes ;) The entry-fee for the YS Falls in Jamaica is about 20$ p.p. and it takes about 2hrs to get there from Negril. A Zipline is also available but you have to pay 35$ for a ride of 10 seconds. Is it worth it ?! You must know that by yourself :)

YS falls st Elizabeth Parish Jamaica - EAmorim
small summary of the visit to the YS falls
September 2018
(YS) Saint Elizabeth Waterfalls Jamaica
I had to change the music to Bark -John Deley and 41 Players. I hope you will like this one. YS Falls located in Saint Elizabeth Parish Jamaica has to be one of the prettiest waterfalls in Jamaica. In fact, we'd argue it's pretty close to Dunn's River Falls in terms of scenic allure. According to the signs here, the falls consist of seven main tiers almost all in close succession (which was why we thought it was so pretty).
We spotted an additional waterfall further upstream from what was shown on the map sign near the main play area, but the trail past that waterfall was closed. Thus, I'm sure there were probably more falls further upstream. However, as far as the main waterfall area was concerned, it was said to have a cumulative drop of 36m over the seven or so drops.
In addition to its scenic allure, what really struck us during our visit here was the fun atmosphere of the place. We saw people taking their pick of which swimming hole to choose from (as each waterfall tier seemed to have pools conducive to swimming both above and below it), we witnessed others plunging off rope swings into some of the deeper pools, and all this was happening while we heard zipliners screaming in excitement above us as they were zooming by us from the top to the bottom of the main waterfalls.Jamaica (Listeni/dʒəˈmeɪkə/) is an island country situated in the Caribbean Sea, comprising the third-largest island of the Greater Antilles. The island, 10,990 square kilometres (4,240 sq mi) in area, lies about 145 kilometres (90 mi) south of Cuba, and 191 kilometres (119 mi) west of Hispaniola, the island containing the nation-states of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Jamaica is the fifth-largest island country in the Caribbean.[5]
Once a Spanish possession known as Santiago, in 1655 it came under the rule of England (later Great Britain), and was called Jamaica. It achieved full independence from the United Kingdom on 6 August 1962.[6] With 2.8 million people, it is the third most populous Anglophone country in the Americas, after the United States and Canada. Kingston is the country's largest city and its capital, with a population of 937,700.[7][8] Jamaica has a large diaspora around the world, due to emigration from the country.[9]
Jamaica is a Commonwealth realm, with Queen Elizabeth II as its monarch and head of state. Her appointed representative in the country is the Governor-General of Jamaica, currently Patrick Allen. The head of government and Prime Minister of Jamaica is Portia Simpson-Miller. Jamaica is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy with legislative power vested in the bicameral Parliament of Jamaica, consisting of an appointed Senate and a directly elected House of Representatives.
REVISTING YS FALLS, ST ELIZABETH, JAMAICA (VLOG)
Revisiting one of my favorite waterfalls here in JAmaica - YS Falls. Located in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica .
I call it paradise.
A must visit.
--------------------------------------------------------
YS Falls opened in 1992. It is a nature-based attraction offering the opportunity to experience the beauty of the waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees.
There are seven waterfalls, several which cascade into natural pools. Some areas are fairly rocky and do not allow swimming.
Lifeguards on site, indicate which areas are for swimming, however, being able to swim is a requirement. There is a natural pool, fed by underground and above ground springs, which is more suitable for children and others unable to swim.
More recent additions to the attractions at YS Falls, include exhilarating canopy rides, which glide from the top of the falls to its base. These adventures are accompanied by experienced guides to take care of you along the way.

YS Falls St. Elizabeth Jamaica
Many persons have been asking me to make more videos available of my Jamaican trips so on my return home in December, I took time out of my hectic schedule to complete this one and oh was it special. I grew up 45 minutes from this hidden gem but never got the chance to visit. When I got there I was in awe. YS Falls is a place of beauty, from the arrival at the car park to the journey to the actual venue. Do let me know if you agree. I want to know if I am just going overboard with my excitement.
PELICAN BAR & YS FALLS - St.Elizabeth Jamaica
A preview of a short tip I took to The Pelican Bar & YS Falls in St Elizabeth Jamaica.
It was absolutely wonderful.
YS Falls opened in 1992. It is
a nature-based attraction
offering the opportunity to
experience the beauty of the
waterfalls surrounded by
lush gardens and
magnificent trees.
There are seven waterfalls,
several which cascade into
natural pools. Some areas
are fairly rocky and river
shoes are recommended.

swimming, however, being
able to swim is a
requirement. There is a
natural pool, fed by
underground and above
ground springs, which is
more suitable for children
and others unable to swim.
PELICAN BAR
If you are looking for the perfect get
away from it all experience then look no
further than the Pelican Bar, a rustic
wooden bar built on a sand bank a
quarter of a mile out to sea, half way
between Black River and Treasure Beach.
The Pelican Bar is the perfect place to
spend the day being busy doing nothing,
sunbath, drink beer, swim in the shallow
waters, eat fresh fried fish or even bring
along your fishing gear to catch your own
dinner!

WYESS (YS) FALLS, St Elizabeth, JAMAICA
The earliest recorded name of this famous river and its spectacular falls is 'WYESS', by today it is widely referred to and depicted on maps as 'YS'.
This visit in March 2016 was at a time when the parish of St. Elizabeth had been experiencing a long drought so the volume of the river and falls was greatly reduced - a great opportunity for family bathers!

YS Falls St Elizabeth...
Beautiful for picnics and family day put
YS Falls Trip | Jamaica | 2017
Took a trip with some friends to YS Falls, located in the Parish of St. Elisabeth.
Come with me as we drive from Montego Bay, through the country side to the waterfalls. We stop to eat, then zip lined, then of course climbed the Falls. Excellent views with nature at its best.
On entering YS Estate from the main South Coast road you are immediately aware you have embarked on a magical expedition.
Surrounded by green feilds and distant mountains, horses, cattle and magnificent trees, long canopied property roads lead you to your destination – YS Falls!
A 10 minute Jitney Tractor ride across the pastures will lead you to the cascading falls you have come seeking.
A few green fields and red cows later, you wind along the riverside in “your” jitney to arrive at nature’s true playground – YS Falls.
Expansive grounds, tasteful ecological structures, service areas, play areas and a natural wading pool inform you that you are well provided for on your visit.
