Bifengxia Panda Base
Bifengxia (碧峰峡）which means: Valley of the Green Peak or Green Peak Canyon. is a beautiful destination in Ya'an, Sichuan, China. I visited on a Thursday morning. It was uncrowded, beautiful, and very serene. We hiked up through a gorge and then reached the Panda research center. The Pandas were alright, but the main attraction was the scenery and the Bifeng temple from which you could look upon the green mountains. Bifengxia Town (碧峰峡镇, bìfēngxiá zhèn, literally: Green Peak Valley) is a town in Yucheng District, Ya'an, Sichuan, China. The town is located in an isolated valley, 15km north of Ya'an city centre. Bifengxia's main attraction is its natural-state Panda Base.
Bifengxia, meaning Green Peak Valley, is named after the lush canyon that runs through the town just south of the Panda Base. The canyon has been developed with a concrete walking trail and is accessible via an elevator from the canyon rim.

The World's Largest Collection of Pandas // Bifengxia Panda Base
Bifengxia Panda Base is the largest panda base in the world. There are around 100 pandas living in the facility. It's located in the Bifeng gorge, a paradise for flora and fauna. 90% of the gorge is covered in vegetation. It's mild temperature and heavy precipitation make it one of the most fertile places in all of Sichuan province.
We visited the pandas, including the panda kindergarten where you can watch baby pandas play, and we hiked through the left gorge - a 2 kilometer trek that takes you past multiple waterfalls and deep into the canyon.
