Ad_Indigo_Gold_Trail
The Indigo Gold Trail represents the first integrated approach to the development of a tourism product based on the history of the discovery and pursuit of gold across Indigo Shire.
In and around Beechworth, Chiltern, Rutherglen and Yackandandah, and the villages and countryside in between, evidence of gold mining remains - from the perfectly preserved streetscapes of the towns to modest miners' cottages, from mine shafts and mullock heaps to astonishing water races carved through solid rock; from Chinese Burning Towers and pioneer graves to historic government buildings, schools and museums all dating from those early, heady days of the gold rush of the mid 19th Century.
The Indigo Gold Trail ties these many fascinating elements together and offers visitors of all ages a new reason to embark on an entertaining and educational journey of gold discovery through the Shire's picturesque towns and countryside.

Bright Railway Museum.January 2014
Recently I was in Bright ( North East Victoria ) for work, so I decided to drop into the Railway Museum, its not a very big Museum but what it has is the history of the Railway at Bright..So if you ever get the chance to go and Visit Bright do drop in to the museum and have a look around..
The Railways were built in five sections, the first was from Bowser, then Beechworth Junction to Everton in 1875, next was on to Beechworth the following year.Everton to Myrtleford came in 1883, Bright in 1890 and finally Yackandandah in 1891..
A crowed estimated as being two thousand (2500) people gathered at the Bright railway station on Friday October 17th 1890 to welcome the first steam train.
The first Steam train was.. Numbered .. T 249..0-6-0

Esperance Pictorial - Western Australia.
Esperance is a larger coastal town and port. Has a nice museum park and museum too.
Nice beaches and is popular for boating and water sports and fishing. The town is well laid out and there's a lot to do in that area.

Roadtrip to Wodonga, Beechworth and Woolshed Falls
So we had to go to northern Victoria, about a 4 hour drive from Melbourne so, we decided to make the most of it.
Roadtrip bitchezzzz
After a gig at the military base, we visited some lovely parts of the Australian countryside before landing in the historic town of Beechworth. There we sampled oldschool boiled lollies, a Ned Kelly museum and, of course, the best bakery in the State.
