Minatogawa Fissure Ruin in Yaese Town (JAPAN UPDATE)

Minatogawa man who lived Minatogawa district in Yaese town around 180,000 years ago had found the fissure its called Minatogawa fissure ruin.

Shot at night using only existing light provided by chochin lanterns and some bare light bulbs. My camera can record only 5 minutes of HD video and I missed the final few seconds.

Morning Market at Yaese (JAPAN UPDATE)

Every Saturday morning, there is a morning market on the Yaese Town Hall parking lot. It’s not a very big market but very fresh farm produce and processed products by local producers are sold.

Cherry Blossom in Okinawa: Kanhizakura (Formosan Cherry)

Sakura in Okinawa blooms earlier than ones in other prefectures in Japan. From the mid of January to February, Kanhizakura (Formosan Cherry) comes into blossom.

Cherry Blossom Festivals will be held in Motobu Town, Nakijin Village, Nago City, Naha City, Yaese Town and many other places.

Locals and tourists visit the sights to enjoy viewing cherry blossoms. When you visit Okinawa in the season, don't forget to go Hanami (cherry blossom viewing)!

Encountering wildlife in Yaese

Ok so I suppose that a chicken isn't wildlife hence the quotation but it was still an interesting find, at least in our opinion. There is nothing like checking out a castle site and seeing this little guy. NEW WEBSITE:

Minatogawa shrine : Masashige Kusunoki is deified as God. (Kobe City of Japan)

Masashige Kusunoki was born 1294 A.D. at Chihaya Akasaka village in Osaka prefecture of Japan. He was praised as the ideal of warrior possessing the three virtues of wisdom,courage and benevolence. Beautiful and splendid pictures is drawn on this shrine's ceiling board.

Samurai Honeymoon! Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins in Fukui | JAPAN 4/8 Banzski 038

My wife and I went way into the countryside of Japan on the 3rd day of our honeymoon to visit Fukui, a historically rich prefecture in the country. We visited the Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins, which used to be a thriving samurai castle town until it was completely destroyed in 1573. Thankfully, a small part of the village has been reconstructed to its original appearance, where visitors can see, feel, and experience what that time period was like. You can even try on a samurai couple's outfit, which is a really funny experience LOL

Fukui is such a beautiful part of Japan and we wanted to visit more places around the area while we were there, but sadly the public transportation is very lacking (there were free bike rentals at the train station but Mai doesn't know how to ride a bike T_T), and it's hard to ask people for directions since most of the people we came across are old farmers who didn't know English. We will just have to come back next time with a car! But this time around was an exciting adventure nonetheless, getting lost and exploring one of Japan's lesser known historical sites.
