Hey everyone! On our final day in Yakushima we visit Yakusugi Land and climb up a mountain for 2.7 miles up mount Tachu to Heaven's Pillar! The view was unbelievable, and the climb was amazing fun. Thanks so much for watching!

Late night shinkansen to kagoshima (Overnight)
Next day, take boat ride to yakushima for hiking to famous Shiratani Unsuikyo.
Dont have enough time for Yakusugi land.
Evening back to kagoshima, spent a night at ferris wheel and yatai

Yakushima (屋久島) is an island off the southern coast of Kyushu and part of Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
The island is covered by an extensive cedar forest (nearly 90%) that contains some of Japan's oldest living trees. That`s why some areas were declared as a Natural World Heritage Site. The island has a rich nature with Jōmon Sugi trees that are older than 1000 years, a beautiful sea, waterfalls, wild monkeys, deer etc. Surrounded by this unique nature, our presenter Sam could completely relax body, mind and soul. You can easily come here from Fukuoka by aeroplane within 60 minutes.

Rainy Yakushima. Where shall we go? [4K]
During our stay in Yakushima, a large typhoon approaches. All flights and ships are canceled.
Are we going to leisurely pass our time at the inn today? Even though that’s fine, it is getting a little boring.
So we go to the Yakushima Environmental and Cultural Village Center, the tourist information center in Miyanoura (a town in Yakushima) to check, and it seems like there’s one walking course at Shiratani Unsuikyo Forest (about 30 minutes from Miyanoura where you can drive up a mountain) that is still partially open.

So many things went wrong, but so many things turned out well.
Hey guys! I recorded this video in the first couple of days after I landed in Japan. Once I left the airport, reality set in, and man, did it set in HARD. Do people even talk about this aspect of traveling by yourself? It may not be fun, but I talk about it here - and how God got me through Day 1.

YAKUSHIMA pt. 1 - Getting to Yakushima (the cool way)
from Kansai Int'l Airport it took me 9 hours to get to Yakushima: bus, plane, bus, boat, bus
Trip to Kyoto, Kagoshima, and Yakushima (Part 2) - 京都・鹿児島・屋久島の旅行
We took a ferry to the island of Yakushima, about 60km (apprx. 37miles) off the coast of Kagoshima prefecture. The island is famous for its forests which are said to have inspired the forest scenes in Hayao Miyazaki's film Princess Mononoke (もののけ姫 - Mononoke-hime).
We went to Yakusugi Land (屋久杉ランド) the first day, then went for an early morning hike up to Taikoiwa (太鼓岩).

Yakushima in Pictures and Sounds: 1/5 Yakusugiland
Yakusugiland is a nature park at an altitude of about 1000 meters with 30-minute to 3-hour walks as well as access to challenging hikes. Ancient Yakusugi trees, giant spruce and fir trees, and stumps left from Edo-period logging are covered in moss. The paths are easy to follow (although I have seen people make mistakes), and bridges help keep trails open even during heavy rains.
It is a 40-minute drive from Anbo, the nearest town. I suggest you buy a lunch and take the morning bus to Kigen Sugi (a 3,000-year-old tree), the stop after Yakusugiland. A few minutes later, catch the bus when it returns, spend the day in Yakusugiland, and catch the afternoon bus back to Anbo. On the way back, you can also stop at the Yakusugi Museum. Stronger hikers who have their own transportation can climb Mt. Tacchu, which has a trail head within Yakusugiland. Yakusugiland is also a good starting point for multi-day hikes.

Japan Vlog: Battleship Island, Gunkanjima
Hey everyone! Today we visit Gunkanjima, which is better known as Battleship Island. The Island is just off the coast from Nagasaki, and was a large coal mining town until the 1970s when the mine closed and the inhabitants moved out. The island was then battered by typhoon, and looks like a set of a dystopic sci-fi game. It's amazing. Thanks so much for watching!

Hi guys, Toastie here!!
I got the inspiration from the movie Chef, Percy Casper, the son of chef Carl, filmed a video which put 30sec videos of their food truck journey together. the result was stunning and great in the movie, so I decided to give it a shot.
This time, it was 5 days adventure. It kicked off from Kagoshima, Sakurajima and ends up in Yakushima, a beautiful island located at southern Kagoshima, where takes few hours to get there by ferry.
Definitely, one of the must go spots in Japan!!!!

Even though this is not my first video on my youtube channel (the first video is an already-made video of me skydiving in Australia), I still named this video Project Life changer when I was editing it.
The reason is simple. Because I want to start a youtube channel to live a lifestyle I wanna live. Even its just a less than 60sec video, it is still a small spet towards my dream.
