Japan's maglev sets world record: 603 km/h
On 21st April, JR Tokai’s state-of-the-art vehicle, linear motor car, L0 system has recorded 603 kilometers per hour in the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line (Yamanashi Prefecture Uenohara - Fuefuki, total length 42.8 km). This is the world's highest speed for manned railway and exceeded 22km faster than the certified Guinness record. The company is to apply for a new record in Guinness world record.
The first time in the history of speed of 600 km and above was attained at 10:48am, for over 1.8 km, lasted for 10.8 seconds in the test line tunnel. The previous top speed was 581 km by test vehicle MLX01 in December 2003.
JR Tokai is aiming at the entire line open for linear Chuo Shinkansen, between Shinagawa to Nagoya in 2027, and up to Osaka in 2045, with maximum speed of 500 km. The test runs with faster speed has been conducted in order to take the data, such as air resistance and vibration of the vehicle. [Ichijo Yuta]

The Fastest Train In The World - Yamanashi MLX01
Meet the insanely fast Japanese bullet #train - the JR-Maglev MLX01. It held the world record for the fastest maglev train in the world, recording a speed of 581km/h on the 2nd December 2003 on the Yamanashi #Maglev Test Line. It uses superconducting magnets which allow for a larger gap, and repulsive-type Electro-Dynamic Suspension.
Japan Railways has been testing their train to figure out the best operational #speed for a planned route between Tokyo and Nagoya, scheduled to begin service in 2027.
