Yanchep National Park - Western Australia
Yanchep is one of our more unusual parks as it contains and inn, sports grounds, manicured lawns as well as large areas of unspoiled natural beauty.
Accommodation is available and there is a campsite for those with tents and caravans.
Wild kangaroos laze on lawns and birds seek sanctuary on small islands in the lake. There are walk trails and caves and if this wasn't enough there is even of golf course.

YANCHEP NATIONAL PARK WESTERN AUSTRALIA
WESTERN AUSTRALIA / Yanchep National Park / GoPro HERO 4
Yanchep National Park (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) is home to western grey KANGAROOS which can be seen in abundance early and late in the day. At other times they shelter from the sun so you might be lucky enough to see them resting in shady areas.
Stroll along the 240-metre KOALA boardwalk to view one of Australia’s favourite native animals in a natural environment and learn more about these fascinating creatures.
The park has nine walk trails designed to suit a variety of age groups, interests and fitness abilities. They range from short trails of 500m to challenging trails up to 46.2km. Each trail has been selected to showcase the unique biodiversity of the northern Swan Coastal Plain.
More than 400 caves have been recorded in the park, and there are many ways you can enjoy them. Crystal Cave, Adventure Caving, Cabaret Cave each offer contrasting experiences.

Don't trust the Duck! Yanchep Inn, Yanchep National Park, Western Australia
Yanchep National Park and the Yanchep Inn. The setting is unique and it has one of very few Beer Gardens in and around Perth. The tame birds at the Inn are probably part of the attraction, but the real value of the park is its conservation of bush and wild life. If you want to see the endangered Carnabys Cockatoos, Yanchep is the place to be.

WA Weekender S3 EP15 Discovering Yanchep National Park
Perth Koalas & Crystal Cave @ Yanchep National Park 2019
This national park is on the way to Pinnacles.
It’s less touristy, less crowded and to top it off it’s not as pricey as the Caversham Wildlife Park. The park entrance fee is only $13 per private vehicle that carries less than 12 people.
@ Yanchep National Park, you will be able to see wild kangaroos, have access to the Koala Boardwalk (free of charge) and join the Crystal Cave tours.
However, there are not as many wildlife animals in this park, and you are unable to take close up pictures with the koalas. I'm not sure if the koalas enjoy taking pictures and being pat by humans.
Note that tickets to the Crystal Cave tours must be purchased at the visitors centre, its $15 for adult and $7.50 for children (6-15yrs old) and Family $37.50 2 adults + 2 children. It's a 45 mins tour and they have a limit on the number of people for each tour. Its a great way for the little ones to learn about geology and the formation of cave.
We didn’t wait for the kangaroo to turn up as they were wild kangaroos and would normally appear in the early morning or late afternoon. We went on a very hot and sunny saturday (6th of Jan 2019).
We left the park early to check out the Yanchep beach lagoon and Pinnacles which was awesome. Wait for the next video to see what we did!
