Yarmouth County Museum & Archives
This award-winning general history museum focuses on Yarmouth County history, including its seafaring past. Collections include china, glass, furniture, toys, tools, ship portraits and models, musical instruments, costumes, stage coaches, an electric car and a lighthouse lens. The ship portrait collection is the third largest in Canada. Five period rooms are featured.
The Archives contains historical information about Yarmouth County. Its holdings include documents, newspapers, photographs and genealogical materials on Yarmouth families. Please see below as well as website for details.
The Museum also operates the Pelton-Fuller House (next door to the museum) and the Killam Brothers Shipping Office on the Yarmouth waterfront. Please see separate entries for these sites.

Yarmouth has an amazing history and the town does a great job with these museums in showing our past. Staff are all very friendly and happy to give you a tour of each place. Costs are mainly donation or very low. There are family days in which this video was shot on that the town opens the doors for free to all the museums.
