Chidori is a migratory bird having come from a North country to Narashino city for the first time. Shigio, who is also a migratory bird and knows well about Narashino, guides Chidori to some sightseeing spots around Narashino city.
　In 「A Walk through Nature」, you will visit some nature spots including Yatsu Higata (tidal flat) where migratory birds stop and rest, Yatsu Rose Garden where as many as 700 kinds of roses bloom. The image of circling above Yatsu Higata is precious!

Today i visit Nudgee creek and Nundah creek.
Boondall Wetlands is located 15 kilometres north of Brisbane's CBD. The wetlands lie on the edge of Moreton Bay between Nudgee Beach, Boondall and Shorncliffe and include approximately 1150 hectares of tidal flats, mangroves, salt marshes, melaleuca wetlands, grasslands and open forest.
Migratory shorebirds feed on the food-rich mud flats and roost in the salt marshes and mangroves along the shore. Each spring they fly to Moreton Bay from as far as Siberia, China, Japan, Mongolia and Alaska. The Boondall Wetlands have ties with the Yatsu-Higata Tidelands of Japan as part of the Narashino Agreement. Large numbers of international migratory shorebirds travel between the City of Narashino, Japan and Moreton Bay each year. They reside in Boondall Wetlands between September and March each year

The Narashino Wetlands Affiliation Agreement

First signed in 1998, the Affiliation Agreement between Narashino City Council and Brisbane City Council aims to protect significant international wetlands and migratory shorebird populations through research, conservation, education and community awareness. The agreement seeks to enable communities along the flyway to work together to ensure the future of migratory shorebird species.
