Assisi and Italian Country Charm
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Check your local public television station for this Rick Steves’ Europe episode or watch it on In the Italian countryside, we'll connect with rustic, traditional culture: enjoying an agriturismo (farmhouse inn), seeing how prosciutto and pecorino cheese are made, and hiking to the bottom of deep and ancient wine cellars. We'll end in Assisi — the hometown of St. Francis — which retains its spiritual aura to this day. Like pilgrims, we'll explore its stony center before trekking to its awe-inspiring basilica, built on the tomb of the beloved saint.

The Machinist's House
One of the best explores of this year. Nearly every room had something of interest & it was quite difficult to film without giving away personal details of the family and the location of this property.
It is unusual to find a property that still has so many leftover items, after what could have been abandoned for a decade or more (one of the last entries on an amateur radio log was dated 25-7-98) the bathroom housed the radio antenna still in-situ. The blue pin badge for 1910-1985 is to commemorate 75yrs of the girl guides. The R.S.G.B. cards are for the radio society of great britain. The Ensign Ful-Vue medium format box camera was made by barnet ensign of great britain 1946-49, although this was the Ensign Ful Vue II 1951-54 model.
Having trouble identifying the teddy bear from the photo (i never picked it up & examined it) could be a early Steiff ? As there has been no vandalism or copper theft or graffiti tagging having taken place here, i am keeping almost all outside views out of this video. Some of the machine items i came across were made by Singer, Jones,(sewing machines) & (Printing - Adana of (Twickenham, London, 1922-1999), Thompson British auto platen (Manchester) & Harris Intertype Ltd of (Slough, Bucks, England) who made their last print linecasting machine in 1976 for the Guardian newspaper Co. Originaly made in Brooklyn U.S.A Before a merger, The Intertype was in the garden shed and i think there may have been another one lurking in the shadows amongst all the trays of letter-type everwhere? Which i luckily managed to get a few images of before i ran out of camera battery! So much more hidden away that i never got to see & who knows what is in the attic & garage which was completely overgrown, difficult to get near & overlooked at the front by some neighbouring properties & passers by, so i didn't push my luck & risk trying to look inside. Weird thing was the lack of furniture, but still lots of personal items left behind?
On the ground floor & stairwell the surfaces seemed to be coated with what appeared to be a mixture of ink staining & cigarette smoke residue. (highly visible on all light switches)
Lots of the items looked to have been composed for photo's, the books on the bookshelf were titled: Cassels book of Sports and Pastimes, The complete works of William Shakespeare Volume 1, Byfleet a Village of England, & Cookery illustrated and Household Management. The boys football r/up trophy date appears to be for season 1987/8. The small boxroom upstairs belonged to non smoker Margaret! The queen's silver jubilee magazine would be for 1977.
All in all it was very worthwhile getting up at silly o'clock & cycling to the train station before sunrise and making what turned out to be a very memorable trip to The Machinist's House..
..Enjoy the explore folks!

A jolly song about a night time poacher who loves his work... despite never making a penny from it! The tune following is called 'The drunken poacher's jig' and follows on from the story, it's pretty self explanatory...

Hidden Artifacts - The Home, 1917.
On this episode of The Hidden Artifact Channel, I explore the 19th century home of my ancestors. This property was an active farm from the mid 1800's until it was burned down in the 1980's. The land was donated to the state of Michigan, and is now used as public hunting land. The only things that survive are a few precious family photos, taken between 1916 and 1919 as well as the foundations of the house, slowly being reclaimed by nature. While I never had the chance to visit the house while it stood, I have always wanted to explore the property to find anything that might bring me closer to those family members that worked so hard to create something for themselves. Shot in 4K.

Doggy Paddle: Hulk’s Adorable Pit Bull Puppies Learn To Swim
SUBSCRIBE to the Barcroft network:
THIS is the adorable moment a tiny pit bull puppy learned to swim in a bathtub. The four-week-old male named Tigger is captured on camera shyly taking to the warm water and learning to float. As he is lifted out his natural instinct to paddle continues for ten seconds while his paws drip dry and he quietly stares into the camera. The puppy and his siblings are being trained to swim by their owner Marlon Grennan of Dark Dynasty K9s, in New Hampshire, USA.

Abandoned $10,000,000 Mansion of Pablo Escobar (paint balled inside!)
The best gift you can buy for christmas:
So while in Medellin Colombia, we couldn't resist going to explore Pablo Escobar's abandoned mansion. He's a very controversial figure in the country, so we're obviously not trying to glorify him or his history simply documenting his ruins.. and taking the chance to have some fun paint-balling.
