Siddheshwar Dam is an earth-fill dam on Purna River, which is a tributary of River Godavari. This dam is located in the north-western part of Aundha Nagnath, in the Hingoli district of Maharashtra. The dam was constructed in the era of Yashwantrao Chavhan, the former chief minister of Maharashtra State.

एस.टी.अपघात...येलदरी येथे ब्रेक फेलमुळे एस.टी.अपघात रिसोड - जिंतूर मार्गावर अठरा प्रवाशी जखमी
जिंतूर आगारातील जिंतूर-रिसोड एस.टी.जिंतूरकडे प्रवाशी घेऊन परत येत असतांना येलदरी येथील महावितरण कार्यालय व येलदरी धरणाच्या रस्त्यावर ब्रेक अचानक फेल झाल्याने बस चक्क पलटी झाली. यातील तब्बल अठरा प्रवाशी गंभीर जखमी झाल्याची घटना घडली जखमी प्रवाशांवर ग्रामीण रुग्णालयात उपचार करण्यात आले.सदरील घटनेविषयी विश्वसनीय सूत्रांकडून मिळालेली अधिक वृत्त असे की, जिंतूर आगारातील जिंतूर रिसोड बस क्रमांक एम एच 20 डि 8946 रिसोड वरून जिंतूर करिता 30 प्रवासी घेऊन जिंतूरच्या दिशेने निघाली असता येलदरी येथील महावितरण कार्यालय जवळ सदरील बसचे ब्रेक अचानक फेल झाल्याने बस चालकाचा बसवरील ताबा पुर्णतः सुटल्याने बस रस्त्याच्या बाजूला पलटी झाली. या भीषण अपघातात बसमध्ये चालक, वाहक सह प्रवास करीत असलेले अठरा प्रवाशी गंभीररित्या जखमी झाले.

तर, तिकडे दुष्काळग्रस्त परभणी जिल्ह्यात मुसळधार पाऊस झाल्यानं परभणीवासियांना मोठा दिलासा मिळाला आहे.
खडकपूर्णा धरणाचे 19 दरवाजे उघडण्यात आलेत.. सध्या या धरणातून पूर्णा नदीत 31 हजार 450 क्युसेक वेगानं पाण्याचा विसर्ग करण्यात येतोय. या पार्श्वभूमीवर नदीकाठच्या गावांना सतर्कतेचा इशारा देण्यात आलाय. तर, य़ेलदरी धऱणात अनेक वर्षांनी 15 टक्क्यांगून अधिक पाणीसाठा तयार झालाय. तर, गंगाखडेची तहान भागवणारा मासोळी प्रकल्प 97 टक्के भरलाय. तिकडे सेलूतील लोअर दुधणा प्रकल्पातही 7 दशलक्ष घनमीटर इतकी पाणीसाठ्यात वाढ झाली आहे. त्यामुळे दुष्काळग्रस्त परभणी जिल्हा आणि शहरातील पिण्याच्या पाण्यासह सिंचनाचा प्रश्न मार्गी लागला आहे.

परभणी-जिंतूर महामार्गाचे काम खोळंबले, प्रवासी व वाहनचालकांना असुविधा
परभणी ते जिंतूर असा 45 की मी चा महामार्ग रस्ता मागच्या अडीच ते तीन वर्षां पासून रुंदीकरणाच्या तथा मजबुती करणाच्या कारणाने खोदून ठेवण्यात आला आहे,परभणी ते औरंगाबाद पुढे 222 वरील महामार्गावरील प्रमुख शहरांना जोडणारा हा रस्ता 45 कि मी च्या अंतर्रात जवळपास 30 कि मी पर्यंत खोदून ठेवण्यात आला आहे.सदर कामही मागच्या काही दिवसां पासून ठप्प झाले असून परिणामी रोज ये जा करणाऱ्या प्रवाशांना व वाहनांच्या चालकांना अत्यन्त असुविधेचा सामना करावा लागत आहे.एवढा मोठा प्रमुख रस्ता अश्या प्रकारे खोदून पुन्हा कामाला मोठ्या प्रमाणात विलंब होत असतांना सुद्धा परभणी सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभाग साधी नोंद घ्यायला तयार नाहीये.
परभणी जिंतूर सह परभणी गंगाखेड प्रमुख रस्त्याचीही अशीच अवस्था झाली असून अक्षरशः नाका तोंडात प्रचंड प्रमाण धूळ जात असल्याने व जागो जागी खड्डे झाल्याने प्रवाश्यांच्या अस्थि बाबतच्या तक्रारी व माणक्यांचे आजार बळावले आहेत.सदर प्रकारे अत्यंत मनमानीने नागरिकांना वेठीस धरून काम बंद करत असुविधा निर्माण करणाऱ्या समंधीत कंत्राटदार आणि सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाच्या अधिकाऱ्यावर जबादारी निश्चित करून कार्यवाही करण्याचे नागरिकांचे म्हणणे आहे.
