10 Things to do in West Yellowstone Montana
There's so much to do in West Yellowstone, MT, a gateway town to Yellowstone National Park. Living just north of the Park, we have spent a lot of time in that area but we also love the west entrance of West Yellowstone Montana. It's got a very retro, historic ambiance to it with plenty of fun things to do before you even go into the first national park. And it's not just for RV campers. Here are 10 of our favorite things about this wonderful Montana town.

Visiting the Yellowstone National Park in Summer is fun, but seeing the Park in Winter is amazing. I brought my camera gear, hit record, and had some fun! After spending a few days in West Yellowstone, we took a short drive to Jackson, Wyoming to visit Grand Teton National Park. We finished off our trip by enjoying awesome snowboarding at Jackson Hole Ski resort.

When we were editing our prior video of Lion's Head Loop, in West Yellowstone, MT we knew we had to stop there again in 2019. Temps were cooler and there was more snow on the ground making the views even more amazing. We made sure to stop by the local ATV/UTV shop, Polaris West, to ask about other trails in the area and learned there were several others that are a must see. This video shows 2 of those, Lion's Head Loop & Two Top. We ran out of time and will have to go back to see the others. We can't wait!!

We checked in to Kelly Inn and headed over to the Freeheel & wheel bikeshop to rent some bikes and hit the local trails. After the ride, we had dinner at Otter Pub.

Visit West Yellowstone!
Lying at the very busy West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park is the gate city of West Yellowstone. This charming little town was founded when the Union Pacific Railroad built a spur line to this entrance to the National Park to facilitate tourism. A grand Train Depot and Dining Hall were built for the visitors and the rest of the town built up.
The town is full of very practical firms that furnish tours, rent equipment, provide RV Parks, hotels, inns, restaurants and the like, but also the fun shops full of souvenirs and gifts. It is truly a fun place to visit on an off-day from the fabulous Yellowstone NP.
