Sylvan Pass at Yellowstone National Park
On the morning of our departure from Yellowstone, we left through the East entrance/exit. This sent us through Sylvan Pass just as the sun was rising and it was amazing!
Sylvan Pass (el. 8,524 feet (2,598 m)) is a mountain pass located in the Absaroka Range in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. The pass provides access to the park from the east entrance.
The pass was named after nearby Sylvan Lake (derived from medieval Latin sylvānus, from Latin Silvānus, god of the woods, from silva, forest), and was formed by frost action breaking the rocks. The park road through the pass was closed during winter but is now open to visitors throughout winter. The road is maintained to allow access via snowmobile, snow coach, and cross-country skiing. In the 2007-08 season it cost the parks service in excess of $200,000 to keep it open and avalanche control measures were put in place.

Lori Hoppe is a Montana educator teaching her students about the intersection of metalworking and agriculture. Using her One Class at a Time grant, she will purchase a second bench grinder for her students to complete projects that will get them credit towards Gallatin College in Bozeman. The extra resources will help her students complete projects on time without having to share a single grinder.
First Interstate Bank and local TV stations in the community have formed a partnership to show our commitment to education through our One Class at a Time weekly grant program. Each week during the school year a representative from First Interstate Bank, a TV reporter, and photographer visit the classroom selected for that week's grant award.
'Unprecedented': Massive Yellowstone River Fish Kill, Nearly 200 Miles Closed to Public
Nearly 200 miles of a popular Yellowstone river is closed to the public, as thousands of fish have gone belly up in an “unprecedented” way. Officials in Montana suspect the cause is a human-spread parasitic disease.
Fishing, rafting, swimming and other water-based recreational activities were banned for an undetermined amount of time as of Friday morning. The immediate closure is stretching from Yellowstone National Park’s northern boundary at Gardiner to the Highway 212 Bridge in Laurel, the area surrounding the affected zone.

Rat Camping part 2 Yellowstone National Park
Day 3 of our trip. We woke up frozen at Flagg Ranch in the Teton National Park, and find a good samaritan to help start up our truck and then drove into Yellowstone National Park. We get a campground at Madison Campground for the rest of our trip. We ran into West Yellowstone for supplies and meet a wonderful lady named Agnes, who owns the Timberline Cafe. She invited us to her house to make a repair on the truck. Im forever thankful of her generosity.
Day 4 We awake to anther frozen truck, and another Good Samaritan who helped us get running. We made another trip into West Yellowstone for a second battery for the truck. We went to the Norris Geyser Basin and hiked the trail seeing the sights, a drive around Yellowstone Lake and then to Old Faithful where we watched the eruption from Observation Point, then back to Madison Campground for another beautiful campsite.

Sheridan Waitai, Strategic Lead - Make it Happen Te Hiku, speaks about Make it Happen Te Hiku at Superu's Evidence to Action Conference 2015.
This community-led approach was designed to enable public services to genuinely help citizens raise their aspirations and build people’s capabilities, without creating reliance on the state. It was characterised by the ability of all participants to develop a common agenda; a shared measurement system; continuous communication; mutually reinforcing activities; supported by the Ministry of Social Development as the backbone organisation.

Tati's Tours 12 {The Old Town of Aldridge}
Just two miles north of Yellowstone National Park lie the remains of a forgotten era -- a time when coal was shipped on trains to fuel other mines across the mineral-rich Northwestern United States.
The town of Aldridge, built overlooking the deep, murky Aldridge Lake, was home to nearly 1,000 mining workers and their wives, many of them from the Balkan region of Europe. Their cyrillic carvings are still evident in the mountain they called home for 15 short years.
I spent some of my youth in the shadows of this ghost town, even tripping through the old root cellars there -- all that was left after area residents stripped the wood from the buildings in a post-World War II era.
But I never knew the story of Aldridge until 2011 when my family and I took a hike with Edwin Johnson, operator of Montana Guide Service.
This tour is dedicated to all the residents of Aldridge, the workers, their wives, and their children, all who were forever changed by the harsh yet beautiful landscape of Paradise Valley, Montana, and their hopes and dreams.
