Yercaud Vlog in Tamil : Here are the most visited tourist places in Yercaud unlike Ooty or Kodaikanal is not crowed commercially. Yercaud also called as 'Poor man's Ooty' is one of the best weekend destination to visit from bangalore/chennai as a road trips with your friends and family.

We began our weekend trip from Coimbatore early morning and reached Salem by 10:00 A.M. From there we picked up our friends and reached Yercaud in just an hour drive from Salem.

Day 1 was well spent seeing the places like Lady's seat viewpoint, Children's seat, Sericulture Exhibition and finally sunset at 'Pakoda point'.

Yercaud is a hill station town in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It lies in the Shevaroy Hills, known for their orange groves, and coffee, fruit and spice plantations. Yercaud Lake has a boathouse, and is surrounded by gardens and woods. On the lake’s eastern shore, Anna Park has local plants and a Japanese garden with bonsai. To the southwest, Lady’s Seat vantage point has a watchtower with a telescope.

Yercaud; Salem (Tamil Nadu)

Situated at 1,515 m (4,970 ft) Yercaud is about 26 KM from Salem (Tamil Nadu). Also known as Jewel of the South is actually one of the best hill stations in Shevaroys range in Eastern Ghats. Yercaud has a beautiful lake, waterfalls, coffee plantations and beautiful view from Pagoda point. During my visit there was no water in waterfalls so plan your visit during monsoons. Also, you need to walk paved slope to enjoy the falls.

Yercaud ghat road has 20 hairpin bends. Well maintained road and smoother curves make it a bliss to ride road in Tamilnadu.
Yercaud being famous outing destination from Bangalore attracts lots of tourist during the weekends.

Located on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats in the northern Tamil Nadu, Yercaud is often touted as poor man’s Ooty and is less expensive place than Ooty. Owing to its picturesque beauty and lush greenery, Yercaud is gaining

popularity as a favorite tourist spot among locals and foreigners. The town is famous for oranges and coffee plantations. The main crop grown in Yercaud is coffee but fruits like guava and jackfruit too grow here. Also, the forest areas of Yercaud are rich in teak, silver oaks and sandalwweood. Some popular places for sightseeing in Yercaud are Shevaroy Temple, Botanical Garden, Kiliyur Falls, Pagoda Point and Lady’s Seat. Apart from sightseeing, the region is quite famous for trekking. If you happen to visit this place during the months of May, make sure to enjoy Summer Festival which is a spectacular show of fairs, boat races and flower & dog shows.
