Armenia is a nation, and former Soviet republic, in the mountainous Caucasus region straddling Asia and Europe. Among the earliest Christian civilizations, it’s defined by religious sites including the reconstructed Greco-Roman Temple of Garni and 4th-century Etchmiadzin Cathedral, headquarters of the Armenian Church. Another pilgrimage site is Khor Virap Monastery, in the foothills of Mt. Ararat, just across the border with Turkey

What is your opinion of this system? Its kind of cute seeing such small trains running on the system.

Yerevan is the capital of Armenia and home to one million people.
The system was launched in 1981 and like most former Soviet Metros, its stations are very deep (20-70 meters underground) and intricately decorated with national motifs. The metro runs on a 13.4 kilometres (8.3 mi) line and currently serves 10 active stations. The use of the system by the city's population has dramatically declined in recent years as a result of the introduction of a new minibus system.

Yerevan Metro in Armenia 2012!
The video shows an extremely shaking and old metro of Armenia which is remained from the Stalin days in Soviet Union. EU must be blind to accept Armenia as a European State and European people must be Psycho if they do keep silence regarding that. EU every time decide to accept a former Soviet communist state and it makes EU to be more and more bankrupt!
Vernissage Flea Market in Yerevan, Armenia - Վերնիսաժ
The Yerevan Vernissage is an open-air exhibition-market. It was formed during the 1980s by Armenian artists who started to display their artworks in the square next to the Artists Union of Armenia (the current Charles Aznavour Square). The exhibition-market was gradually enlarged and finally moved to Aram and Buzand streets, starting with the Republic square metro station and ending up with the statue of Vardan Mamikonyan. In addition to carved wood and artworks, traditional carpets, old collections of coins and medallions, books, jewelry, musical instruments, electronics, and even pets are found in the market.

Yerevan's Metro
Yerevan's metro is a true blessing on hot summer days. The Soviet built underground transport system is not very large, but it will take you to the key destinations. The metro wasn't very fit for tourists as of recently, as all signs were only in Armenian and Russian. But following renovation works at Yeritasardakanmetro station, signs could be seen also in Latin latters (English), which is surely a welcome addition for tourists who would have otherwise get lost in it.
I personally met with such a lost French tourist only a month ago. The poor woman had no idea where she was and where to go, so I had to travel with her all the way to Hanrapetakan (Republic Square) metro station, so she could find her hotel.
Zoravar Andranik metro station, where I arrived while making this video, was not renovated yet, and only bore signs in Armenian and Russian. However, the government has allocated about 400 million drams for renovating all metro stations, putting up new signs in Armenian, Russian and English so change will come to the remaining stations as well.
More importantly, since February 14, 2009, Yerevan's metro redesigned its old payment system and now they have magnetic plastic payment cards.
