Nanjing
Nanjing ( listen; Chinese: 南京; pinyin: Nánjīng; Wade–Giles: Nan-ching) is the capital of Jiangsu province in Eastern China. It has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having been the capital of China for several periods. Its present name means Southern Capital and was widely romanized as Nankin and Nanking until the pinyin language reform, after which Nanjing was gradually adopted as the standard spelling of the city's name in most languages that use the Roman alphabet.
Located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta economic zone, Nanjing has long been one of China's most important cities. Having been the capital city of six different dynasties since 3 A.D., it is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. It was the capital of Wu during the Three Kingdoms Period, and the capital of the Republic of China prior to its flight to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War. Nanjing is also one of the fifteen sub-provincial cities in the People's Republic of China's administrative structure, enjoying jurisdictional and economic autonomy only slightly less than that of a province. Nanjing has long been a national centre of education, research, transport networks and tourism. The city will host the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.

Lianshi Boat Boxing, Four Gates Spear
Liànshì Chuán Quán, Sì Mén Qiāng
(Lianshi city Boat Boxing, Four Gates Spear)
Lianshi Town is located in Hangzhou prefecture along the Jianghang canal between lake Taihu and Hangzhou bay.
The Yangtze delta area is rich in terms of fish and rice production as well as being known for it's artisans and craftsmen and it's position as a major hub of trade.
The local martial arts show many influences from various areas of China. It is not uncommon to see martial arts forms from as far north as Henan or Shandong or south from Fujian and Zhejiang. Because of this the local martial arts show a wide range of forms and influences from all across China.
This area is crisscrossed with swamps, rivers, streams, canals, ponds, and lakes.
Traditionally boats have always been the main form of transport in this region and many of the cities are built along bodies of water and have series of small canals leading into the city to connect them to the rivers, and canals which serve as roads in the area.
In this region the various native martial arts practiced in the canal or river towns and along the coast are often referred to as Chuan Quan Boat Boxing.
Outside this area many people are confused about this term and believe it refers to a specific style of martial arts. However it is actually used across a wide area spreading for hundreds of miles around the area surrounding Yangtze river delta as a general term for the martial arts practiced in the various towns and villages built on the waterways, coast, or islands.
Generally the term is followed by the name of the locality, in this instance Lianshi Chuan Quan (Lianshi Boat Boxing) meaning the native martial arts practiced in Lianshi city.
ZhuJiaJiao village Boat Boxing documentary
Zhūjiājiǎo Chuán Quán / Zhujiajiao village Boat Boxing
ZhuJiaJiao village is located in Shanghai's Qingpu district on the shores of lake Dianshan. The city is crisscrossed by rivers and canals meaning that boats are the main form of transportation. ZhuJiaJiao village is at least 1700 years old and today is one of China's Ancient Cities meaning that the city has not changed much since Ming and Qing times and is now a sort of living museum and store house of traditional culture.
Chuan Quan Boat Boxing is a name used for many of the local folk martial arts practiced in the waterfront villages of the Yangtze River Delta, the Zhoushan Archepeligo at it's mouth, and adjacent coastal areas of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
Most of these styles have no relationship with the others aside from having been practiced by people who spent much of their time on boats.
I have previously put up video of several other kinds of boat boxing if you search you will find.
San Huang Bang Da Hong Quan, Guandao set (Peixian area, Jiangsu)
San Huang Bang Da Hong Quan, is an ancient style that traces back to the martial arts practiced by the troops of Song TaiZu. It is considered to be the ancestor of the Shaolin Da Hong Quan sets.
San Huang Bang Da Hong Quan is a complete system with many hand and weapon forms.

Erlang Quan [二郎拳]
Liu Engui and Jing Guoying perform the most basic two man set of Erlang Quan - Duan Quan Dui Da. This rare footage is from Yanshan county in Cangzhou, Hebei Province.
For further information visit:
Erlangquan consists of 5 Sets of Duanquan (Short Boxing) and 8 sets of Changquan (Long Boxing). Which are practiced both in single and in 2 man combat practice sets.
Erlang Shen is a mythical god in Chinese Folklore, known for helping to regulate the great floods and as the nephew of the Jade Emperor. He carries a Trident Spear, a bow, and has a faithful Dog as a companion.
In a martial sense, Erlang also referred to two young gents, potraying that this skillset was originally only practiced as a 2 man combat set. Latter practitioners isolated the movements and developed the single set as well.
Erlangquan's 8 sections of Changquan are based on the Bagua (Trigrams) of Heaven, Lake, Fire, Thunder, Wind, Water, Moutain and Earth.
Ancient Chinese coinage
Ancient Chinese coinage includes some of the earliest known coins. These coins, used as early as the Spring and Autumn period, took the form of imitations of the cowrie shells that were used in ceremonial exchanges. The Spring and Autumn period also saw the introduction of the first metal coins; however, they were not initially round, instead being either knife shaped or spade shaped. Round metal coins with a round, and then later square hole in the center were first introduced around 350 BC. The beginning of the Qin Dynasty, the first dynasty to unify China, saw the introduction of a standardised coinage for the whole Empire. Subsequent dynasties produced variations on these round coins throughout the imperial period. At first, distribution of the coinage was limited to use around the capital city district but by the beginning of the Han Dynasty, coins were widely used for such as when paying tax, salaries and fines.
Ancient Chinese coins are markedly different from coins produced in the west. Chinese coins were manufactured by being cast in molds, whereas western coins were typically cut and hammered or, in later times, milled. Chinese coins were usually made from mixtures of metals such copper, tin and lead, from bronze, brass or iron: precious metals like gold and silver were uncommonly used. The ratios and purity of the coin metals varied considerably. Most Chinese coins were produced with a square hole in the middle. This was used to allow collections of coins to be threaded on a square rod so that the rough edges could be filed smooth, and then threaded on strings for ease of handling.

Shandong laozi 山东落子 narrative singing from Shandong, China
A performance of Shandong laozi (山东落子), a genre of traditional narrative singing from Shandong province in eastern China. The name of the story being told here is 《三八二十三》. The moral of this story, whose protagonist is a humble seller of tofu, is that a seemingly foolish person is not necessarily one, and vice versa (thanks to ethnomusicologist Dr. Mei Han for this insight).
A more detailed synopsis is provided by Aaron Yap of Singapore:
This is the story of two bean curd sellers selling their product on the same street. Both sell 1 jin (approx. 1 pound) of bean curd for 80 cents, but the second vendor sells 3 jin for the discounted rate of $2.30. The first seller mocks him for his poor sense of calculation, but in the end the former's bean curd was sold in no time while the latter's bean curd is left to turn sour in the heat of the day, and he finally realizes the art of doing business.
The performer, Zhang Qingmin (张青敏), accompanies himself with a bamboo clapper called zhuban (竹板) in his right hand, and a large cymbal called dabo (大钹), or, in local vernacular, guang-guang (光光), in his left hand.
Probably filmed in Jining, southwestern Shandong province, China, c. February 26, 2016.
Zhang was born in Sima town (司马镇), Jinxiang County (金乡县), Jining (济宁市), southwestern Shandong province, China in 1961. Jinxiang County borders Jiangsu province to the southeast, and Jining borders Heze to the southwest, Zaozhuang to the southeast, Tai'an to the northeast, and the provinces of Henan and Jiangsu to the northwest and south respectively. In 2011 Zhang was named an official Transmitter of the Shandong laozi tradition by Shandong province's Intangible Cultural Heritage agency (2011年被评为山东省非物质文化遗产山东落子项目传承人).
Shandong laozi, centering on Shan County (单县), Heze (菏泽市), southwestern Shandong province, was included as one of 157 traditions in the First Batch of the Shandong Province Intangible Cultural Heritage List (山东省第一批省级非物质文化遗产名录), announced on December 30, 2006.
In 2008 Shandong laozi, centering on Shan County (单县), Heze (菏泽市), southwestern Shandong province, received the further distinction of being included in the second batch of 510 traditions inscribed in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China (第二批国家级非物质文化遗产名录) by China's State Administration of Cultural Heritage (SACH, 国家文物局), an agency under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture (中华人民共和国文化部) that was formerly known as the State Cultural Relics Bureau (国家文物局文化部).

Anhui
Anhui is a province of the People's Republic of China, and is part of the East China region. Located across the basins of the Yangtze River and the Huai River, it borders Jiangsu to the east, Zhejiang to the southeast, Jiangxi to the south, Hubei to the southwest, Henan to the northwest, and Shandong for a tiny section in the north. The provincial capital is Hefei.
The name Anhui derives from the names of two cities in southern Anhui, Anqing and Huizhou. The abbreviation for Anhui is 皖, because there were historically a State of Wan, a Mount Wan, and a Wan river in the province.

SUMMARY
=======
The Hui people (Chinese: 回族; pinyin: Huízú; Wade–Giles: Hui2tsu2, Xiao'erjing: خُوِذُو; Dungan: Хуэйзў, Xuejzw) are an East Asian ethnoreligious group predominantly composed of Han Chinese adherents of the Muslim faith found throughout China, mainly in the northwestern provinces of the country and the Zhongyuan region. According to the 2011 census, China is home to approximately 10.5 million Hui people, the majority of whom are Chinese-speaking practitioners of Islam, though some may practise other religions. The 110,000 Dungan people of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are also considered part of the Hui ethnicity.
Their culture has distinct differences that developed from the practice of Islam. For example, as Muslims, they follow Islamic dietary laws and reject the consumption of pork, the most common meat consumed in China, and have given rise to their own variation of Chinese cuisine. Traditional Hui clothing differs from that of the Han primarily in that some men wear white caps (taqiyah) and some women wear headscarves, as is the case in many Islamic cultures. However, since the industrialization and modernization of China, most of the young Hui people wear the same clothes as mainstream fashion trends.
The Hui people are one of 56 ethnic groups recognized by China. The government defines the Hui people to include all historically Muslim communities not included in China's other ethnic groups. The Hui predominantly speak Chinese, while maintaining some Persian and Arabic phrases. In fact, the Hui ethnic group is unique among Chinese ethnic minorities in that it associates with no non-Sinitic language. The Hui people are more concentrated in Northwestern China (Ningxia, Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang), but communities exist across the country, e.g. Beijing,Xi'an Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Hainan and Yunnan.
