Yilan Luodong Forestry Culture Park
羅東林業文化園區，是位於宜蘭縣羅東鎮的林業展示園區，佔地約20公頃，前身為羅東林場。
916年，日本人為儲存太平山林場木材，將羅東的松羅埤當作貯木池。因當地人將檢木叫「松羅」，故有此名。
羅東森林鐵路在1924年完成後，松羅埤一帶成為木材集散區，也就是羅東林場。1982年太平山林場結束砍伐作業。經由林務局於2004年規劃羅東林場為羅東林業文化園區，重現太平山林業及羅東鎮發展的林業歷史。
2014年，羅東林管處將整修園區內的三百公尺長的五分仔鐵道鐵道，讓蒸汽火車能在園區內短程行駛。
內有竹林車站、森林鐵路、生態池（松羅埤）、機槍堡、儲木場、百年舊書攤、自然教育中心、運材蒸汽火車頭展示區、羅東林業管理處等。

Luodong Night Market is a famous tourist attraction in Yilan Country and a trip to Yilan is never complete without a visit. The night market is certainly the best place to taste a number of local specialities at an affordable price. The market can get insanely crowded after dark so make sure to get there early. We've found that the best time (last week of April) was around 5 pm on weekdays and 4 pm on weekends.
We also took a short detour and had a walk via the Luodong Forestry Cultural Gardens ( Entrance is free and it makes for a beautifully relaxed setting.

日據時期園區是太平山林場重要的木材轉運中心,為了運材方便,當初還在貯木池畔興建了五分仔火車軌道與竹林車站.在林業興盛年代,周邊還發展出許多與林業關連的生活聚落,目前園區內仍保有許多日式員工宿舍,都是當時社會文化的見證.

Exploring Colonial Taiwan’s Forestry Industry
In this video we look at a relic of colonial Taiwan’s forestry industry — the Luodong Forestry Garden in Luodong City, Yilan County. For some 60 years, the logging industry employed some 10,000 people. That industry closed down in the 1980s, but the city government has repurposed the industrial processing center into a quaint garden and refuge for wildlife.

羅東林業文化園區其前身為日治時期羅東出張所及貯木池舊址。日據時期，太平山開採伐木，在大正13年(1924)，太平山及羅東森林鐵路開通後，改由鐵路運輸木材，羅東林業文化園區恰為當時的終點「竹林站」，因此保有 佔地廣大的林場貯木池及相關的設施，不過民國71年結束伐木作業後，鐵路與伐木相關設施都被擱置，為了保存這段珍貴的歷史，林務局在民國93年，將此區規劃為文化園區，讓一般民眾也可以親近了解這段伐木時代，進而有更多的保育觀念。
Taiwan Luodong Forestry Cultural Park, formerly known as the period of the Japanese rule of Luo Dong out of the reservoir and wood pond site. During the period of the Japanese occupation, the harvesting and logging of the Taiping Mountain was carried out by railway transportation after the Taisho 13th year (1924), the Taiping Mountain and the Luo Dong Forest Railway, and the Luodong Forestry Cultural Park was the end of the bamboo forest station. The forest bureau and the relevant facilities were built up. However, after 71 years of logging, the railway and logging-related facilities were put on hold. In order to preserve this precious history, the Forest Service Bureau in 1993, As a cultural park, so that the general public can also close to understand this logging era, and then have more conservation ideas.

羅東林業文化區坐落於羅東市區附近，交通十分方便，園內規劃有貯木池、森林鐵路、竹林車站、蒸汽火車頭、綠林和步道等，從這些設備、建築物中發現當年的林業發展多麼蓬勃，又是多麼地熱鬧，同時也讓人不禁感慨，許多珍貴的檜木消逝在太平山中。
羅東林業文化園區火車
隨著林業發展的轉型，可以看見昔日風華的貯木池，零散放著當時砍伐的檜木，如今，貯木池不再具有貯木的功能，而是成為水鳥和魚兒們的天堂。
在園區中散步，彷彿進入一座秘密花園，園內種植滿滿茂密的樹木，不時聽見鳥兒的叫聲，空氣中帶有芬多精與淡淡的檜木香，舒服的環境，令人不禁停下腳步，感受內心的寧靜。

Welcome to my 29th vlog! In this vlog, you'll see me go to the Luodong Forest Cultural Park, Chun Restaurant, and the National Center for Traditional Arts in Taiwan!
I will say that the National Center for Traditional Arts might be my new favorite place in Taiwan that is outside of Taipei. I loved how that there was always something to explore in there and that we got to dye cloths. I love trips where I can just dive into the culture, rather than simply just looking at it. But I will also say that the National Center for Traditional Arts is also quite beautiful.
