Yi Yang Sea And Gold Waterfall Taiwan
Yi Yang Sea. Gold Waterfall. We were on our way to Jiu Fen. This was at the foot of the mountain.
What a strange scene – a bay where the sea is a mix of yellow and blue! This is Yin Yang Sea (陰陽海), located beside the northern coastal road.
Located beside the northern coastal road in the Gold Ecological Park region is Yin Yang Sea, a curiously colored patch of water. The complementary blue and yellow coloring of this bay brings to mind the ancient Chinese principle of yin and yang, the natural concept of duality. Just as with the dichotomy of light and dark, or cold and hot, Yin Yang Sea expresses a natural balance of two sides of a mutual whole. This awe-inspiring scene provides a perfect opportunity to pause and contemplate what other contrary forces in nature are actually interconnected concepts. Remove assumptions, take a step back, and open your mind to the beauty of nature.
Due to the pollution from nearby mining activities in years past, local belief has it that the coloration of this bay was caused by chemical runoff. Yet, even many years after the closure of all mines, the unusual hue of the water remains. After closer examination, it appears this blue/yellow coloring is a result of the insoluble floating iron ions from the heavy concentration of pyrite (also known as “Fool's Gold”) in the area.
Because of the highly concentrated heavy metal ions in the water, it's strongly recommended not to go into the water.

Yingyang Sea is a natural phenomenon formed from the running of yellowish iron-rich river runoff into the sea. As the river water and sea water don’t mix that fast, it creates the pattern of the ying-yang. It is best seen after heavy rainfall, where there is ample river volume. Though there is a small drizzle on this day, the river volume is moderate, hence the phenomenon is not as spectacular. Nonetheless, the half-crescent of the yingyang can still be seen.

水湳洞陰陽海，簡稱陰陽海，位於台灣新北市瑞芳區水湳洞聚落北側，為台灣東北角濱海地區的一大特殊地理景觀。水湳洞陰陽海因海灣中的海水顏色呈黃褐色，與外海方向正常海水的藍顏色形成鮮明對比，因而得名。

Farah & Kyle explore Taiwan's gold museum in Jinguashi then stop by Jiufen to enjoy delicious food and magnificent views. They try various traditional Taiwanese snacks and get to see the famous stairs that was used as an inspiration for the Anime film Spirited Away.
This is probably our favorite place that we have visited in Taiwan thus far. Make sure to check it out if you ever visit!

In today's video, we will tour you around taiwan for our DAY 2 Trip in Taiwan! For today's tour, we will visit Taiwan's northeastern coast to see an amazing rock formation in Nanya Rock Formation! I was amazed by the beauty of nature with the landscape formed by the weathering of the sandstones and the waves of the sea and I also found out that Hawaii is just 1 hour away from there! We get to see also the Yin Yang Sea with the combination of yellow and blue color of the sea. We will also stop by the Golden Waterfalls! And for our last stop, the old street of Jiufen , where you can see the famous tea shop that inspired that anime Spirited Away! Jiufen also has 500 shops of foods, drinks and souvenirs! Watch until the end!
