Starting at Turntable Car Park, headed out on the East - West Walk, Northern Range Walk, Branding Yard Trail, Saddleback Track, East - West Walk then climbed the 450 steps to Flinders Peak.

The You Yangs are a series of granite ridges that rise to 319m (Flinders Peak) above the Werribee Plain approximately 55 km south-west of Melbourne and 22 km north-east of Geelong, in Victoria, Australia. The main ridge runs roughly north–south for about 9 km, with a lower extension running for about 15 km to the west. Much of the southern parts of the ranges are protected by the You Yangs Regional Park.
Although only 319 m at their highest, they dominate the landscape and are clearly identifiable from nearby Geelong, Melbourne and beyond

With the reopening of Flinders Peak Walking track in the You Yangs Regional Park, a trail run has been established from the Parks Office to the top of the peak.
With the reopening of Flinders Peak Walking track in the You Yangs Regional Park, a trail run has been established from the Parks Office to the top of the peak.
The You Yangs 87 takes visitors from the Park Office along walking tracks and Management Vehicle roads to the top of the peak and back. The trail is 8.7km long, contains over 300m of vertical climbing and has over 500 stairs and other obstacles.

You Yangs - Victoria
The You Yangs is a series of granite ridges overlooking Geelong some 22 kilometres away. Its a steep walk up a series of paths and steps and is reasonable gong if you take your time. The climb and walk is well worth the views you'll see along the way to the top which then gives your a 360 degree view of everything around you.
Explorer Mathew Flinders first climbed the peek in 1802 and as a child I also climbed it many times so to come back after over 50 years was a pleasure to relive those times.
Wear good shoes and pick a nice day. This day was a little cool with slight showers of rain. All in all a very good day out still. Lots of picnic areas to choose from there as well.

You Yangs Regional Park in Victoria of Australia
You Yangs Regional Park is in Little River, 55 km south-west of Melbourne Central Business District. The Park is zoned for various outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain bike riding, horse riding, rock climbing, abseiling and road cruising.
You Yangs are made up of series of ridges and the words come from the Aboriginal word “Wurdi Youang” or “Ude Youang” which means big mountain in the middle of the plain.
