The Tamsui–Xinyi or Red line (code R) is a metro line in Taipei operated by Taipei Metro, named after the districts it connects: Tamsui and Xinyi. It includes a total of 30 stations serving Tamsui, Beitou, Shilin, Datong, Zhongshan, Zhongzheng, Daan, and Xinyi districts. At 29 km, it is the longest line of Taipei Metro.
The Tamsui section runs mostly along the former Tamsui railway line. There most of the tracks and stations have been renovated, except in the Zhongzheng district, where a new tunnel was constructed due to lack of surface right-of-way.
The Red line is a high-capacity metro system. Routes south of Yuanshan are underground; routes between Yuanshan and Beitou are elevated; routes between Beitou and Hongshulin are ground level; and Tamsui is elevated.
淡水信義線，路線編碼為R，路線代表色為紅色，是台北捷運一條營運中的高運量路線。依興建期間與階段營運所使用的路線名稱，此路線又可再細分為淡水線和信義線兩路段，兩線以中正紀念堂站為分界，以北為淡水線，以東為信義線，其中淡水線是臺灣首條由傳統鐵路改建而成的捷運路線，其前身為臺灣鐵路管理局已經停止營運的同名支線鐵路線—臺鐵淡水線。除了主線外，淡水信義線在北投地區尚設有一條支線—新北投支線，目前台北捷運有意將此支線更改回原始設計的主線營運模式，未來其營運區間可能將為「新北投-大安」。另外除了淡水至象山站之間已經通車營運的路段外，也正在興建象山站東延至廣慈/奉天宮站的延伸線。
2016年10月11日台北捷運頒行新版路線編號作業，以「路線顏色英文字首」為編碼原則，賦予淡水信義線代表紅色的「R」字代號。但在2014年11月15日（松山線通車時）至2016年10月11日間，曾短暫使用過以數字作為路線編號的規則，當時淡水信義線是稱為2號線。

Walking Around the Taipei Expo Park (花博公園) + Storey House (台北故事館)
The Taipei Expo Park / 花博公園 is a multifunctional park in Zhongshan District converted from the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo. The park comprises three typical park areas (Yuanshan, Taipei Fine Arts Museum and Xinsheng) while offering venues for the hosting of various events in the former Flora Expo’s pavilions. Among the iconic Flora Expo displays, still available, on the parks’ premises, mostly featuring perennial flowering/foliage plants and turfs, are the 3-dimensional Green Walls, Flower Walls, “Flora Rainbows”, Special Exhibition Area, Flower Landscape, Rare Flowers & Plants Area, and Fruit Tree Area.
The Taipei Story House / 台北故事館, formerly known as the Yuanshan Mansion (圓山別莊), is a historic house in the Zhongshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is now open as a museum in Taipei Expo Park.
The house was built in 1913–14 during Japanese rule by Tan Tiau-chun (陳朝駿), a Daitōtei tea merchant. It was originally a guest house for rich merchants, and other important local people.
The ground floor was built using brick and the upper floors of wood with English Tudor-style beams. The staircase is constructed to look like a pagoda. The entrance portico is in the classical style with Ionic columns.
The Story House museum now has exhibits related to tea and local history. It is located immediately adjacent to the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and close to Yuanshan Station.

淡水信義線北起淡水站，沿台二乙線、台二線與淡水河岸間路廊過關渡隧道至關渡，接著大致沿中央北路南側至北投，之後大致沿東華街與西安街間路廊至士林，穿過基隆河後，沿玉門街轉入地下，沿線型公園下方至台北車站。之後，路線再沿公園路至中正紀念堂站，接著沿羅斯福路、愛國東路南側、杭州南路、信義路、福德街向東延伸至廣慈博愛園區一帶，全長32.3公里。
雖然淡水線是台灣第一條通車的高運量地鐵路線，但此路線實際上是採地下、高架與地面路線等多種方式混合配置，在圓山站以南（不含圓山站）皆為地下路線，以北至北投站（含北投站）為高架路線；北投站至紅樹林站為平面路線，但終點站淡水卻為高架車站型式。至於較晚通車的信義線，則採用全線地下化的方式施作。
本路線除了信義線（東門站－象山站）皆裝設全高式月台門以外，其餘車站（淡水站－中正紀念堂站及新北投站）在通車時未裝設月台門，目前正逐漸進行裝設半高式月台門。
在台北捷運開通至2014年的早期路網時代，淡水線曾長期與屬於綠線的新店線及屬於橘線的中和線採用直通運行方式營運，因此當時常被稱為「淡水新店線」或「北投南勢角線」。2012年9月30日東門站通車後新蘆線與中和線直通，取消「北投－南勢角」的營運模式，改為「北投－台電大樓」的區間車型態。2013年11月24日信義線通車後，「北投－台電大樓」營運模式改為「北投－象山」，「淡水－新店」則繼續直通營運至2014年11月14日松山線啟用前一天為止。由於台北捷運的路線系統在松山線通車後不再有重大變革，配合松山線的通車，台北捷運公司於2014年10月11日宣布重整營運路線的名稱與編號，回歸初期規劃時的原始設定。除了正式確定「淡水信義線」的路線名稱外，也另行增加數字編號稱為2號線。2016年台北捷運公司宣布於10月開始分階段進行車站站名增加編號作業，以「路線顏色英文字首」加「車站序號數字」為編碼原則，原2號線調整為編號「R」。
除了主線外，淡水信義線在台北市北緣的北投一帶還設有一條支線——新北投支線。新北投支線的前身為台灣鐵路管理局新北投線，台北捷運利用鐵路支線拆除之後的用地修築捷運路線。此支線與淡水線主線同樣屬於高運量系統，但僅以一組三節車廂運行，全線皆為高架路線。路線自淡水線北投站向東北分歧，全長僅1.2公里，且除了與主線共用的北投站之外，全線僅有終點新北投站一個專屬設站。
Line R of Taipei Metro (Tamsui–Xinyi Line or Red Line or Line 2) comprises three sections: the Tamsui Section (formerly Danshui), the Xinbeitou Branch Section, and the Xinyi Section. Taipei announces new details relating to government-led urban renewal plan
Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je has made public housing and urban renewal focal points of his new administration. Today he announced new details relating to 22 government-run urban renewal projects, including the rebuilding of Datong’s Lanzhou and Wanhua’s Nanjichang resettled tenement communities. Interim housing built as part of the plan will later be converted into rental public housing. The Datong District resettled tenement community at Lanzhou is filled with narrow, old homes. Life can be difficult here. Mayor Ko Wen-je hopes to improve the community through a government-led urban renewal project.Lanzhou Urban Renewal ResidentIt’s great. The worst place in Taipei is Datong District. It’s the city’s oldest community. Our only hope is government-led urban renewal. There is no chance of urban renewal if we residents are left to negotiate with developers.The city’s plan is to complete rezoning then build interim housing units. After residents move into the interim housing, refurbishment can begin. Once residents return to their rebuilt homes, the interim housing will be converted to public housing.Charles LinTaipei Deputy MayorWhen these residents leave (the interim housing), tens of thousands of public housing units for youths will be opened. This won’t be typical public housing that is built then sold. We will continue to manage it.The city will build interim housing in 10 districts, including near Yuanshan Station on the former site of Minglun Elementary School. The Taipei Confucius Temple is a Confucian temple in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan.
Taipei Confucius Temple was established in 1875. The temple holds ceremony on September 28, the birthday of Confucius, to commemorate Teachers’ Day. The ceremony follows the ancient ritual since Ming Dynasty. The display of music and dance, known as “display –presentation ceremony”, are in the veneration of Confucius.
Take the Red Line 2 to Yuanshan Station (圓山). After leaving by Exit 2, continue walking down Kulun St (庫倫街), take a right at the intersection of Dalong St (大龍街). The main entrance will be located on the right side.

菁桐老街在一個寧靜的山區中,以前因煤礦開採變的滿熱鬧,但隨著礦坑停採後,在地人潮逐漸流失,又因鐵道復古風情重新吸引觀光人潮,讓老街商圈也重拾往日繁華,另外也有放天燈活動.
今平日裏的老街人潮並沒有那麼多,又是來看看四周景色如何,還特地進菁桐礦業生活館參觀,看到以前礦工真的滿幸苦,在年輕時代工作賺到錢,但等到中老年後,得到病痛是一堆啊.
ps
天燈不環保,日後有人應發明做個可分解成養份的天燈,這樣下來不是個一舉二得方法.
Heavy Rain
The Greater Taipei area was pelted with heavy rain this afternoon, leaving sections of roads in both Taipei and New Taipei flooded. The Central Weather Bureau predicted more of the same for tomorrow.According to bureau data, Datong District in Taipei was hit hardest, getting 98 millimeters of rain in a one-hour period. Sanchong in New Taipei and Shilin in Taipei were close behind.
