If you want to really discover Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and the Riviera Maya area surrounding Cancun, we highly recommend taking this incredible trip to the ancient Mayan Coba ruins. From there, it's just a short drive to these three nearby cenotes.
The entry fee to get into Coba is 70 pesos per person but you should plan on renting bikes to get around the massive Mayan grounds which are 50 pesos per bike. The entry fee for these cenotes is 55 pesos per person per cenote.
If you’ve never been to a cenote, these three near Coba are a wonderful place to start! Not all cenotes are underground like this, in fact, the most popular Playa Del Carmen and Cancun Cenotes are above ground. Still beautiful nonetheless, but nothing compares to venturing deep into the ground near Tulum Mexico to unmask the crystal clear blue/green cenote water below!
Taking a dip into these brisk waters is a little bit of a shock at first, but these cenotes near Playa Del Carmen are probably our best experience on the Yucatan Peninsula to date! It’s not just bikinis and beautiful women in this Playa Del Carmen vlog (although there is plenty of that). Prepare yourself for some of the most gorgeous nature you’ve ever seen with some Quintana Roo cenotes in today’s Mexico travel vlog.

Se encuentra ubicado a 3 kms de la zona arqueológica de Chiche Itza, 35 minutos de la ciudad colonial de Valladolid y a solo una hora y media de Mérida, la ciudad blanca.
Cenote de Ik Kil es un parque rodeado de plantas exóticas y árboles que es el hábitat perfecta para cientos de aves silvestres, tales como: tucanes, loros, cenzontles, cardenales, cazadores de moscas, turquesa mot-mot, y varios más.

Ik Kil is a well known cenote outside Pisté in the Municipality of Tinúm, Yucatán, Mexico, It is located in the northern center of the Yucatán Peninsula and is part of the Ik Kil Archeological Park near Chichen Itza. It is open to the public for swimming and is often included in bus tours.
The cenote is open to the sky with the water level about 26 metres (85 ft) below ground level. There is a carved stairway down to a swimming platform. The cenote is about 60 metres (200 ft) in diameter and about 40 metres (130 ft) deep.[1] There are vines which reach from the opening all the way down to the water along with small waterfalls. There are black catfish which swim in the cenote.
The cenote is part of a larger complex of a restaurant, store, changing rooms, and cottages for rent. There is also a Mayan ruin on the site.

These are some of the best Cenotes near Cancun, in the Riviera Maya area. A serious snowstorm was barreling in on Colorado and I decided to take a last minute trip to the Riviera Maya with my friend Larkin. We ate muchos frijoles, jumped in every Cenote possible, and enjoyed the simple magic of Mexico. We were only there a little over three days, but it was incredible. Yucatan, Mayan Riviera, from Cancun to Tulum, is packed with cenotes. This Yucatan peninsula, underneath the rock, is full of air and water pockets. When the land gives way, it exposes this water, known as cenotes pronounced seh-no-tays
There are a lot in the area like cenote ik kil, dos ojos cenote, gran cenote, but this one has to be my favourite of all the Cancun cenotes down to the Tulum cenotes. This is called Garden of Eden Spanish: Jardin del Eden Big, open, clear, clean, with some safe cliffs to jump from. Check this out! Easy to get to as well unlike Ik Kil and Gran Cenote.

My girlfriend and I decided to book a tour through Aventuras Mayas to go swimming in a Cenote, an Ocean Inlet, and go exploring in a Cavemen. The tour took approximately 8 hours and really tired us out. I managed to film this cinematic vlog using a Sony a6300, A DJI Mavic Pro, and Yi action camera.

Imagine deep underneath your feet are these dark caves that stretch on for hundreds of miles. Now imagine that these caves have been completely submerged in water for thousands and thousands of years. And that to navigate these caves, you’ve gotta scuba dive into it with flashlights. Pretty interesting right? According to our diving expert Kenzo, this was on the must-do, must-see list when we got back to Playa del Carmen.

10- NOC- AC
La población tiene un cenote muy visitado por espeleólogos y turistas, denominado Kambul. El nombre (Noc Ac) significa en idioma maya Tortuga volteada, si se entiende que noc significa embrocada o volteada y ac que signfica tortuga. La localidad de Noc Ac se encuentra localizada a 29 kilómetros al norte del centro de la ciudad de Mérida al poniente de la autopista que une la capital del estado con el puerto de Progreso
9- X-LACAH
Dzibilchaltún es un sitio arqueológico maya, ubicado en el estado mexicano de Yucatán, aproximadamente 17 kilómetros al norte de Mérida... Otra característica importante de Dzibilchaltún es su cenote, en el que es posible bañarse. Se trata del cenote Xlacah, el más importante cenote abierto de la zona arqueológica de Dzibilchaltún y que fue utilizado como abastecimiento de agua para los mayas. En algunas partes alcanza los 40m. de profundidad. Mide 40 metros de ancho y 100 de largo. Su nombre es una voz maya que significa Pueblo viejo.
8-YOKDZONOT
El Cenote de Yokdzonot, se encuentra ubicado a 18 kilómetros al poniente de Pisté, a 15 kilómetros al oeste de Chichén Itzá. Si tomas la carretera libre esta a tan solo 300 metros de Mérida a Chichén Itzá. Actualmente ya es un complejo turístico, cuenta con áreas donde acampar, barandales donde admirar el cenote desde lo alto, lugares preparados para descansar en una hamaca, mesas para pasar el día, cuartos donde cambiarse, baños, un restaurante donde podrás degustar comida yucateca a un bajo costo, además de que próximamente abrirán una zona de rapel, está completamente diseñado para que la familia entera disfrute un día en este maravilloso lugar.
7- TZA UJUN KAT
El cenote Tza Ujun Kat se encuentra ubicado a la entrada de Homún, justo detrás del restaurante “El Cenote” el costo de acceso es de apenas $10 pesos por persona. Las aguas del cenote son cristalinas en un color azul claro pasando al verde esmeralda, hay algunas partes de poca profundidad que van del 1.40 a los 2 mts de profundidad donde se puede nadar libremente, recuerde que las partes mas oscuras son mas profundas. Ubicación del Cenote:
Ubicado en la calle 30b con 19 del poblado de Homún.
6-ZACI
Ubicado en el interior de la ciudad de Valladolid, el Cenote Zací es una impresionante caverna parcialmente colapsada de unos 45 metros de diámetro, del techo del cenote o bóveda penden algunas estalactitas que se forman a través del tiempo por los residuos minerales que arrastra el agua. La profundidad del agua es variable, va de 25 a 30 metros en las partes bajas hasta más de 100 metros en las más profundas.
5- YAXBACALTUN
Este cenote es del tipo semi abierto cuenta con área de descanso, baños con regadera y un espacio rustico para el estacionamiento, se encuentra a unos 500 mts de la calle 8 de homún rodeado de vegetación y para llegar a el hay que conducir por un camino de terracería. Una vez llegando al “parador turístico” se paga la cuota de acceso de $10 Mx pesos y se camina unos 200 mts vera que hay una valla metálica que cubre la boca del cenote debido a que el espejo de agua esta a unos 27 metros de profundidad.
También podrá observar al pájaro Toh. Ubicación del Cenote
Para llegar a este cenote necesita tomar la salida de homún y conducir hasta la calle 8 donde dará vuelta a la derecha, conducirá aproximadamente unos 900 mts sobre camino de terracería y luego en el señalamiento dará vuelta a la izquierda conduciendo otros 500 mts de terracería.
