The Yuelu Academy (also as known as the Yuelu Academy of Classical Learning.
Songyang Academy In Dengfeng City | China（登封－嵩阳书院）
Songyang Academy was one of the oldest academies of higher learning in the Song Dynasty in China and the first of the four academies of the Northen Song Dynasty in China. The other three are Yingtian Academy in Henan Province, Yuelu Academy in Hunan Province and Bailudong Academy in Jiangxi Province. It is famous for its rationalistic Confucian philosophical school. It was originally built in the Northern Song Dynasty in 484 in North Wei Dynasty, for Buddhism activities. Then it was changed to be a Taoism site by Emperor Yang of Sui (569-618). Then it was renamed as Songyang Academy by Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty in 1035. Since then, it has been a place for historical eminent people to teach. Famous scholars in Song Dynasty, such as Cheng Hoa, Cheng Yi, Sima Guang, Fan Zhongyan and Zhu Xi, etc., once gave lectures here. There is a 4,500-year-old cypress, granted the title of Great General and Senior General by Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-25 AD), seldom in the world.

Situated at the eastern foot of the Yuelu Mountain in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, Yuelu Academy was found in the year 976 A.D., the ninth year of ancient China's Song Dynasty.

Every time when people talk about Changsha, they will think about the poem, to the tune of Qin Yuan Chun, written by Mao Zedong.
Changsha, located in the Southeast of China, is the capital city of Hunan Province and also a famous cultural ancient city. There is Kaifu Temple which has a lot of worshippers, the most perfectly conserved ruins of porcelain production of Tang Dynasty, the birthplace of underglaze color porcelain--Tongguan Kiln, the Eastern Han Dynasty bamboo slips, and museum of bamboo slips. It seems that touching the old wall of Yuelu Academy could take people back to ancient times.
Changsha is also an international metropolis. There is famous Hunan TV station, Sanchaji Bridge, and Yinpenling Bridge.
Not only Changsha has a lot of delicious food, but also it has many beautiful views. Aiwan Pavilion is one of the best place to enjoy the red maple leaves in Yuelu Mountain. When in the late fall, Aiwan Pavilion is surrounded by thousands of beautiful maple leaves. What’s more, there is Liuyang River in the setting sun, Wuyi Avenue, Riverside Culture Park, and Furong Plaza. All of these places are worth visiting.

We drove from Jingzhou 荆州 to Changsha 长沙. We went to one of the four great academies in China history, Yuelu Academy 岳麓书院. It locates at the foot of Yuelu Mountain 岳麓山, which is also the location of Hunan University 湖南大学. The most exciting and convenient way to climb the Yuelu Mountain, is to take to cable uphill, and to take the slide-way downhill.
Xiang River 湘江 is the biggest river in Hunan Province, which is also the river that runs across Changsha city. In the middle of this river, there is an island called Orange Isle 橘子洲, which has a Mao's statue on the edge of the island.
Then we drove back home, and passed by Yueyang 岳阳, which is also a famous and ancient city in China history. We walked along the city wall and reached the most famous Yueyang Tower 岳阳楼.
The following week, I had my hair cut. Do you guys like it? On the weekends, we went to the aquarium in Jingzhou, watched some performances and shows inside.

In this video, I took a walk at Yuelu Academy, the 1000-year old college in Hunan.
It's one of the oldest academies in China.
The couplet on the main gate says, WEICHUYOUCAI, YUSIWEISHENG.
Which means, Chu has tons of talents, most of who are here in Yuelu Academy.
I think it depicts the ancient elite education in China.
To cultivate great ministers, to help the emperor better manage the country and people.
That's typical Chinese tradition.

Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, was called Tanzhou in its ancient time, and Xingcheng (Star City) is its another name. It is located in the North Eastern Hunan Province and at the lower reaches of Xiangjiang River and the edge of Xiangliu Basin. Changsha is an important center city in the middle reaches of Yangtze River, the “two-oriented” national integrated support reform testing district, a vital industrial city in south central region, national grain production base, raw material base for energy application, equipment manufacturing base, a comprehensive transportation hub, and a politics, economy, cultural and trade center in Hunan Province. Until November, 2017, Changsha has maintained the reputation of national civilized city.
Changsha is one of the first national historical and cultural cities, and it keeps the city name and address unchanged for three thousand years.
There are several historical relics, such as the martyr-worshipping pavilion, Yuelu Academy, and Tongguan kiln. What’s more, the reform movement in the late Qing Dynasty, the democracy of the old type and new type revolutions happened there.
