Today, I am excited to be going on an outing with two of my friends who are Japanese. They are taking me to a shrine and a Trappistine Convent, and then to the Hakodate Botanical Gardens where we will see snow monkeys from the surrounding mountains as they frolic in the waters from the nearby hot spring. Come along with me and see what I learned from them about the Japanese culture.

The Trappistine Convent was founded by 8 sisters from France in 1898 as Japan's first convent. Although the building was destroyed by fire in 1925, it was rebuilt in 1927, featuring the mix of the Gothic and Romanesque styles, such as the brick exterior and the semicircular-arched windows. ????????????

Hey World,
In this episode of Flankee in Japan. I visited a shrine in Hakodate for the first time. My teacher took my class and I to this shrine after our lunch excursion.
It's fairly close by to uni and it's rather peaceful to explore. I don't think you're meant to say what you are praying for out loud. My bad! Please excuse me.
Other than that... uni has officially taken over .... assessments and homework are starting to bog me down!
AND It's going to snow very soon!!!!

Is it worth to spend 1-day side trip to Hakodate???
In my first day in Japan, I spend 2 days in Tokyo before going to Hakodate. W
Originally, I planned to go directly to Sapporo but I realize, it going to be an 8-hour ride via Bullet train.
So instead of going for that 8-hour ride, I opt to stop in Hakodate and spend a day there.
I visited Goryokaku, Lucky Pierrot, Bar Yamashita, Kanemori Red Brick, Starbucks in Hakodate Port and a lot more.
