Welcome back to the Amazon region in Peru. We are in Cocachimba, Chachapoya and today we went to visit the Gocta Falls, one of the mystical treasure of the Jungle. I have to say that this is the biggest attraction here in the Amazonia Region of Peru and the best things to do in Chachapoya. Is very close to Chachapoya and you can easily reach Cocachimba with a collectivo and from there you can walk into the jungle. Is the best trekking you can do. Gocta Waterfalls are the highest waterfalls in Peru and the world's most magical waterfalls.

High Waterfall San Roque Peru
The largest waterfall located in the Tarapoto area of Northern Peru. San Roque is a small village 1 hour away from Tarapoto, and has a huge waterfall located at the end of a intense/extreme 4 hour hiking trail.

fantástico velo de agua que se desprende desde una altura de 580 metros. Su entorno geográfico es magnífico y se caracteriza por la diversidad de su flora, apreciándose orquídeas, helechos y musgos.
Localizada sobre los 1,300 m.s.n.m., las cataratas son uno de los atractivos principales de la provincia de Bongará. Si su punto de partida es Chachapoyas hay que dirigirse a la ciudad de Pedro Ruiz Gallo (90 minutos en auto) y luego recorrer 7 kilómetros hasta el distrito de San Carlos. Desde esta población la distancia es de 12 kilómetros.

Welcome to Peru's best kept secret: Chachapoyas. The town in Northern Peru is located in the cloud forest and is part of the Amazonas region. Home to one of Peru's most notable archeological sites, Kuelap is an ancient fortress that was built on top of a mountain by the Chachapoyas people and it is the largest Pre-Inca archeological site in South America. The Karajia site is the famous anthropomorphic sarcophagi built on a narrow cliff ledge and most of all, Chachapoyas gives you access to Peru's most mesmerizing waterfall: Gocta. Standing at over 700 meters, this is one of the world's highest waterfalls.

Peru 2009 - Yumbilla y Ventanillas de Otuzco y Combayo
Der Yumbilla ist mit ca. 870 Metern einer der höchsten Wasserfälle der Erde. Er befindet sich im Distrikt Cuispes in der Provinz Bongará in der peruanischen Region Amazonas.
Die ungefähre Höhe des Wasserfalls wurde am 10. Juni 2007 vom Instituto Geográfico Nacional del Perú (ING) in einem Bericht der Zeitung El Comercio bekannt gegeben, würde sich diese Höhe bestätigen, würde es sich um den dritthöchsten bekannten Wasserfall der Welt handeln, der Platz, den derzeit der in der gleichen Provinz liegende Wasserfall Gocta belegt.
Der Yumbilla überwindet die 870 Meter in drei Stufen. Den Bewohnern der Gegend war der Wasserfall schon lange bekannt, allerdings wurden seine Wichtigkeit und seine Maße erst jetzt bekannt. Inzwischen wird an Zugangswegen für Besucher gearbeitet.

Kuélap - The Unsolved Mystery of Peru
