Na) 이곳은 유성의 대표적인 자랑거리인 유성온천공원인데요. 가족이나 친구, 연인과 함께 산책하기 좋은 곳일 뿐만 아니라, 365일 따끈따끈한 온천을 즐길 수 있는 족욕체험장도 마련돼 있습니다.


Na) This is Yuseong Hot Springs Park. The main source of Yuseong's pride in Daejeon. The park is not only a perfect walking path for families, friends and couples, but also the place where everybody can enjoy hot springs at Foot Spa Experience Center which is opened here for 365 days a year.




Q : 이곳 온천공원에 한방족욕장이 있다고 하던데, 어떤 곳인가요?
Q : I heard that there is an Oriental Foot Spa Boulevard inside the Hot Springs Park. What kind of place is that?




A : (한방족욕장은 지난 2016년 8월부터 본격적인 운영을 시작했는데요.
다양한 한방족욕을 즐기면서 책도 읽고, 차도 마시고, 편안하게 휴식을 취할 수 있는 곳으로 의자와 테이블이 조성된 공간입니다.)

A : The Oriental Medicine Foot Spa Boulevard was opened in August, 2016. This is the area where everyone can enjoy diverse oriental foot spa while drinking some tea and reading a book. We put a few tables and chairs here for people, so they can have a good and relaxing time.


Na) 유성온천은 우리나라의 3대 온천 중 하나로 손꼽힐 정도로 유명한데요.
그래서 저도 한번 족욕체험에 도전해봤습니다.
한방족욕장은 누구나 이용할 수 있지만
꼭 지켜야 하는 것이 있는데요. 많은 사람들이 함께 이용하는 시설인 만큼 먼저 발을 깨끗하게 씻고 들어가야 한다는 것, 잊지 마세요!


Yuseong is one of the 3 most famous Korean hot springs. This why I wanted to try out this oriental foot spa experience program so much!
Oriental Medicine Foot Spa facilities are free of charge for everyone, however there is only one rule. This space is opened for public and many people come here every day, please do not forget to wash your feet before you put them inside!




크세니아) 족욕이라는 것을 처음 해보는데요. 발끝부터 따뜻한 기운이 올라오면서 온 몸의 피로가 확~ 풀리는 것 같은 기분이 들어요. 오늘 많이 걸어서 다리가 좀 아팠는데 다시 힘이 펄펄 나는데요! 정말 신기해요!
Ksenia) This is my first oriental foot spa experience. It feels like the warm energy spreads through the whole body and refreshes it. I walked a lot today, and my feet were very tired, but now it's all gone and I feel refreshed again. This is quite amazing!




Na) 한방족욕장이 들어서 있는 이곳에서는 매년 5월 유성온천문화축제가 펼쳐지고 있는데요. 족욕체험은 물론 다양한 볼거리와 먹을거리, 공연을 즐길 수 있는 지역의 소문난 축제라고 합니다.


Na) Every year in May, here, at the Oriental Medicine Foot Spa Boulevard the Yuseong Hot Spring Culture Festival takes place. It is a very popular regional event.
During the festival period people enjoy foot spa, street art, diverse food and performances

Q : I heard that this year there would be a great number of attractions during the Yuseong Hot Spring Festival. Is that true?


A : (온천공원일원에서 5월 12일부터 14일까지 3일 동안 유성온천문화축제가 개최되는데요. 특히 올해는 물총대첩, 퍼레이드, 온천족욕 디제이파티 등 화려한 이벤트가 많이 준비돼 있으니까요.꼭 한번 방문해보시기 바랍니다.)
A : The Yuseong Hot Spring Festival will take place from May 12 till May 14 at the various spots of the Hot Spring Park. We are preparing quite a few exciting events this year, such as water gun shooter game, street parade, hot spring spa DJ-party and many other things.

The most famous hot spring festival in Korea? Visit Daejeon in May

Korea’s well known Hot Spring Festival was held on 12 May at Daejeon Yuseong. Despite the torrential rain and bad weather, 80 participants hailing from 60 over different countries took part in a myriad of activities, which includes warm foot bath, bucket challenge, water gun battle, dance parade and DJ party.

We enjoyed a refreshing warm foot bath, where the water from the hot springs is known to have medicinal value, effective in curing diseases and infirmities.

Amongst the participants, some brave souls volunteered to participate in the spring water bucket challenge. Each of us made a wish before we poured a bucket of hot spring water blessings over us.

The water gun battle was a fun and exhilarating time of relieving our childhood memories. We played and mingled with the Korean children, it was an exciting activity!

Undeterred by the rain, the dance parade proceeded as usual and local and international dance groups performed a mix of traditional and modern dance numbers.

The event ended with the much anticipated DJ party where all of us danced to the familiar Kpop tunes and beats mixed by the DJ.

Gongju (공주) was the capital of the Baekje Kingdom from AD 475 to 538 and there are a handful of sights here that draw on that legacy; the most notable is the Tomb of King Muryeong. All are clustered within walking distance in the old city south of the river.

[2019 Daejeon Yuseong Hot Spring Festival]

On the very hot day on May 11th, 80 foreign nationals gathered together to go with Funday Korea Networks on a one-day trip to Daejeon to enjoy the Yuseong Hot Spring Festival 2019!

Upon arriving in Daejeon, we had a fine lunch(some of us couldn’t join lunch due to Ramadan, however).

Afterward, we all tried a variety of open-air foot baths, and went through the Festival area where we ran into a water-gun fight full of energy. For one hour, everybody was having fun fighting each other with the hot spring water or dancing around.

Even though the DJ party was postponed and we couldn’t attend it,
this day brought satisfaction by washing away all the unexpected summer heat of this spring day.

I decided to stop by Yuseong Hot Spring Foot Spa (유성온천족욕) in Daejeon (대전) and wanted to bring you guys along with me!

Despite it being located in the middle of a suburban area, it feels quite secluded and peaceful once you step foot inside of the foot spa. It only took 10 minutes by walk from my place, so I'll probably be going back from time to time when I need to de-stress and relax.

I hope you enjoyed my 4th vlog, and I'll keep them coming! I'm always thinking of new things to talk about and show you all, so I'll try to be as creative as I can!

Last Friday, I visited Daejeon from Seoul station.
Daejeon is one of big cities in South Korea, and you can go there easily from Seoul. You can use subway train inside Daejeon as well, so it's very convenient to trip around the city.
I recommend this one-day trip to travelers and residents of Seoul.
