Pasta & Sugo Venezia Evento
The first Italian Pasta&Sugo restaurant is now reality, the Italian Street Food becomes true in a city that is known all over the world. The PastaShop of Venice was open the 5th September 2015 in a wonderful and central zone of the lagoon as Campo San Barnaba is, a few step far from Campo Santa Margherita, the heart of venetian movida. Now eating a good pasta both sitting and “street” is a reality even here.

FEATURED IN THIS VIDEO:
How to Get into the City:
- From Pisa Airport (Gallilei Gallileo Intl Airport): Take the Pisamover to Pisa Centrale Station, and buy a ticket to Florence (Santa Maria Novella Station)
- From Florence Airport (Peretola)
Cheapest option is the new Tram from T2 to Santa Maria Novella Station in Florence.
Or just hop in a cab)
How to Skip The Lines:
(VERY IMPORTANT TO AVOID SPENDING HOURS IN LINES!)
- The most user friendly website for reserving skip the line reserved ticket times (for the Uffizi Gallery and the Academia Gallery (Michelangelo's David) is:
(But you’ll pay more of a fee…but it is user friendly)
- The official ticketing website for the Uffizi Gallery and The David is B-ticket:
(Less user-friendly, but a cheaper ticket price…and it’s not that hard to figure it out)
- The official site for reserving a climb for the Duomo is here (this will also include entrance into all of the attractions of the Duomo):
- You can also call to book a time at the Uffizi and David by calling this number from a US phone:
011-39-055-294-883
- Or this number from an Italian phone:
055-294-883
You can also sometimes book through your hotel (if you’re staying at a hotel)
Or go with a small group tour like ArtVivia (more expensive, but highly recommended):
Food:
- All’Antico Vinaio

- Medici Chapel (also the family tomb for the Medici)
Parks/Nature:
- Boboli Gardens (Beautiful impressive huge park)

'La Vecchia Scuola Bolognese' was born in 1993 because tourists were asking for something about Bologna that they had not see. From there we started professional courses that teach students the profession in three months, and from there they work all around the world in Italian restaurants. We also have courses that last one day, aimed at tourists. In 2007 we had more than 4,000 foreigners.

Pasta is very important in the United States, but this type of pasta, the pasta from La vecchia scuola bolognese and Bologna is very special, not very many restaurants make this kind of pasta.

I own a restaurant in NYC, an Italian restaurant, and I am here to learn how to make fresh pasta with the hope that I can bring the knowledge back to NY, and that my stuff can do this for the restaurant so we don't have to buy fresh pastas made outside from the restaurant anymore because it's very expensive, it's thousands of dollars every months. So we are hoping to be able to do it in house, and may be expand the business with the fresh pasta.

There's a traditional story that says the shape of the tortellino was inspired by the belly of Venus. Mars and Venus were travelling, and they decided to spend a night at an inn. The owner, amazed by the beauty of Venus, spied on her through a key hole. Once he saw the belly of Venus, he was inspired to produce that very same shape with pasta. This is why this kind of pasta has sensual shapes, because of this meeting. Whereas for the tagliatelle, it seems they were inspired by Lucrezia Borgia, who was forced to ride her horse naked and only covered with her hair. From her hair came the idea of tagliatelle.

The fresh pasta is a system, or an invention, of our grandmothers and of our great-grandmothers, based on the idea of feeding many people, while spending little, using eggs, and flour. Also thanks to the ability of a person to invent something that not only nourishes, but that is good to eat.

LEAD IN
Italian food is popular across the world, and at the heart of the traditional menu is pasta.
The city of Bologna gave its name to the world's most famous pasta sauce ... bolognese.
Its reputation for fine cuisine means that each year thousands of tourists and professional chefs come to learn the secrets of fresh pasta making.

Zaza Act II Finale - Charles Long as Cascart
For the opera lovers. From a live radio broadcast with Cincinnati Opera on April 19, 1985. Anton Coppola conducting. Cast: Patricia Craig, Christian Johanson, Charles Long, and Laura Raffanelli.
Cascart is a challenging role - kind of like Tonio and Silvio rolled into one. I've had this project on my computer for about five years and I finally uploaded it. It's hard to believe this performance was over thirty years ago. I hope you enjoy it.

Pagliacci Opera Canio Philadelphia Zaza Zaalishvili
