Warsaw South, City Walk - Poland 4K Travel Channel
We are reconciled with the world again, the sun is shining. So we start a new city walk in the southern part of Warsaw, in the Business District. Here you see many spectacular skyscrapers, built around the Palace of Culture with its Stalinist (Socialist Realism) architecture in recent years.
For many years it was the landmark of the city of Warsaw, today it is only one of several. It serves as a congress center and has a cinema complex, museums, concert halls, and auditoriums inside. Interesting for tourists is the viewing platform with a restaurant on the 30th floor at 114 m height. It offers a magnificent panoramic view over Warsaw.
Southeast of the Palace of Culture is the flat building of the Warsaw central station, that also serves as a bus station.
To the north of it and to the west of the Palace of Culture is the Zlote Tarasy building complex. It houses a shopping center, office building, and an entertainment and wellness area. Spectacular is the undulating glass roof above the shopping center.
We then stroll along the avenue Jerozolimskie up to the Nowy Swiat. Palais-like buildings line the street. A monument is at the traffic circle to the Naxy Swiat with Charles de Gaulle after whom the roundabout was named. One built it to commemorate Charles de Gaulle's support in rebuilding the Polish army in 1919.
The Nowy Swiat is a relatively quiet street, characterized by flower arrangements and restaurant gardens on the sidewalks. A street to linger on. It leads to the Krakowskie Przedmieście, which we have already visited. And so we find ourselves at the monument of Nicolaus Copernicus again, but this time in the sunshine.
This time we take a closer look at the Holy Cross Church on the other side of the street. Pope John Paul II, Karol Józef Wojtyla, elevated it into the stand of a Basilica Minor. A plaque with the image of the Pope reminds of this. The heart of Frédérik Chopin is buried in the church.
The Renaissance building next to the University is the Uruski Palace, built by Seweryn Uruski. He was a Polish noble president and Russian Privy Councillor. At the top of the front you see the Uruski coat of arms. Today it houses the Institute of Geography and Regional Research of Warsaw University.

Stockwerk in 114 m Höhe.

20 Things to do in Kraków, Poland Travel Guide video transcript:
We kicked off this trip to Poland with a visit to Krakow, a city people have been telling us to visit for years and now we know why. Krakow in the summertime was wonderful! We spent our time enjoying castle views from the river side, exploring neighbourhoods covered in street art, eating some of the best pierogie of our lives, and also discovering what we think may be the best ice cream. The following is our travel guide to some of the best things to do in Krakow!
Wawel Castle is Krakow's crowning jewel, and for centuries it was the residence of the kings of Poland. You can see a mix of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque architecture all in one place.
While in the city, we also had to walk the Royal Route, which was once the historic coronation path of Polish kings.
After visiting the basilica, we spent a bit of time walking the Main Square, which just so happens to be Europe's largest medieval town square.
And that’s it for our visit to Krakow! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around the city. If you have any other places to add to this list or any tips for fellow travellers visiting Krakow feel free to share those.
This is part of our Travel in Poland video series showcasing Polish food, Polish culture, Polish cuisine while visiting Kraków Polska.

Krasiczyn Castle Poland
The construction of the castle started in 1580, initiated by a local nobleman Stanislaw Siecienski of Siecin, who came to the area from Mazovia. Works lasted for 53 years, and the castle was not completed until 1633, by Marcin Krasicki, son of Stanisław and Voivode of Podolia, who in the meantime had changed his name. Originally, the castle was a fortified stronghold, protecting southern border of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. However, Marcin Krasicki, who was regarded as one of the most important promoter of arts in the country, turned the fortress into a sophisticated residence (palazzo in fortezza), under supervision of Italian architect, Galleazzo Appiani.[1] Also, he dubbed the complex Krasiczyn, after his last name. Later, a village of Krasiczyn grew near the castle, also bearing the same name. The Krasiczyn castle was built on the site of an older, wooden complex, called Sliwnica, which had probably been built in the 14th century.[2]
Despite numerous fires and wars across the centuries, the castle’s complex has been essentially unchanged since the early 17th century. Built as a square, with walls representing all four quarters of the globe, at the corners there are four oval-shaped towers: Divine (Boska), Papal (Papieska), Royal (Krolewska), and Noble (Szlachecka). These names reflected the eternal order of the world, with four grades of authority.[2] The rectangular, spacious court is surrounded to the east and north by living quarters, and to the south and west by walls, adorned with attics. In the middle of the western wall, there is a square-shaped tower of the clock (Zegarowa), added by Marcin Krasicki at the beginning of the 17th century. This tower serves as a main gate, with a wall bridge over the moat. Across the centuries, the castle attracted most famous personalities of Polish history. Among visitors, there were kings Sigismund III Vasa, Wladyslaw IV Vasa, John II Casimir Vasa, and Augustus II the Strong.[1] Sigismund III Vasa, of whom Marcin Krasicki was a loyal supporter, visited the castle thrice. For the first time, in 1608, together with wife Constance of Austria.

Wawel Castle. Kraków, Poland.
Wawel castle. Krakow, 2014, the most beatiful polish castle !!
The Gothic Wawel Castle in Kraków in Poland was built at the behest of Casimir III the Great, who reigned from 1333 to 1370, and consists of a number of structures situated around the central courtyard.
In the 14th century it was rebuilt by Jogaila and Jadwiga of Poland. Their reign saw the addition of the tower called the Hen's Foot (Kurza Stopka) and the Danish Tower.[1] The Jadwiga and Jogaila Chamber, in which the sword Szczerbiec, was used in coronation ceremonies, is exhibited today and is another remnant of this period.[2] Other structures were developed on the hill during that time as well, in order to serve as quarters for the numerous clergy, royal clerks and craftsmen. Defensive walls and towers such as Jordanka, Lubranka, Sandomierska, Tęczyńska, Szlachecka, Złodziejska and Panieńska were erected in the same period.
The Wawel Royal Castle and the Wawel Hill constitute the most historically and culturally important site in Poland. For centuries the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood, the Castle is now one of the country’s premier art museums. Established in 1930, the museum encompasses ten curatorial departments responsible for collections of paintings, including an important collection of Italian Renaissance paintings, prints, sculpture, textiles, among them the Sigismund II Augustus tapestry collection, goldsmith’s work, arms and armor, ceramics, Meissen porcelain, and period furniture. The museum’s holdings in oriental art include the largest collection of Ottoman tents in Europe. With seven specialized conservation studios, the museum is also an important center for the conservation of works of art.
