The legal steps you take now could greatly impact your outcome. When it’s all said and done, you want to know you picked the right team.
Our firm has spent nearly 30 years fighting for people just like you. Here, you’ll find an attitude that takes no case lightly… and an attorney-client relationship that just feels comfortable. Your next decision could be one of the most important you’ll ever make. Call us. If we can help you, we will.
Recovery. It’s more than just medical. Quite often, physical injuries are just the tip of the iceberg. Many victims also suffer financial setbacks due to lost wages, medical bills and property damage. And to make matters worse, many of these individuals must then fight with insurance companies that are highly skilled at preserving their own interests. Life isn’t fair, but your legal fight should be. That’s where we come in.
Auto Accidents
In addition to physical injuries, many auto accident victims struggle with financial and emotional hardships as well. If you or a loved one has been involved in a car crash, we urge you to call our firm immediately so we can protect your rights.
Leaving your fate to the insurance companies could be a mistake. Fact is, insurance companies are highly skilled at protecting their own interests. At Hudgins Law Firm, our only responsibility is to YOU. We’ll fight for the compensation you deserve, dealing with the insurance companies and taking them to court if necessary.
Injury Cases
Personal Injury refers to situations in which the wrongful conduct of another causes temporary or permanent physical injury.
In a personal injury suit, the injured party is seeking compensation for all of the losses they have experienced and will continue to experience as a result of that injury. These elements of damage may include medical expenses, loss of wages, pain and suffering, disability and disfigurement..
Slip & Fall Down Accidents
Have you suffered an injury on someone else’s property due to their negligence? Then you may have a “slip and fall injury” case.
While there is no clear-cut way of proving fault, each “slip and fall injury” case is based on whether or not the premises owner allowed a dangerous condition to persist. If you’ve been injured on someone else’s property, call Hudgins Law Firm so we can discuss your rights.
Drunk Driving Accidents
When someone gets behind the wheel of a car after drinking, he or she is placing both his or her own life and the lives of everyone else on the road in danger.
If you’ve been the victim or have lost a loved one due to a Florida drunk driving auto accident, you need someone on your side to help you navigate the legal system. We understand the hardship and uncertainty you’re facing as a result of the accident, and we’re ready to help you get compensated for physical and emotional injuries, lost wages, pain and suffering, disability, and other loss caused by the accident.
The process to get compensation can be challenging, as insurance companies can give you the runaround and try to give as little as possible or even hurt your claim. At Hudgins Law Firm, we know you’re already dealing with enough.
Get medical care as soon as possible, even if you do not feel seriously injured. You may be in a state of shock and not feel back, neck or other soft tissue injuries until days later. The longer you wait to obtain treatment, the harder it will be for you to prove that your injuries were caused by the drunk driver accident.
Because bruises, broken bones, and lacerations eventually heal, begin by taking photos of initial injuries; these pictures can be used as evidence for your injury lawyer as he or she negotiates your settlement or tries your case. Also take note of how you feel and how the injuries hinder your daily life – for example, if the pain was so bad you couldn’t sleep or despite pain medication you remained in pain for days. It may also be beneficial for your claim if you document the medication you take and keep records of your doctor’s visits and medical bills.
As you or your loved ones recover from a Florida drunk driving accident, consider other sources of support as well to help you through this trying time. Friends and family are always a good place to look for emotional support and a helping hand with the many tasks brought on by the accident, whether it is traveling to and from doctor’s appointments or handling matters following a loved one’s death. Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or MADD (madd.org), a nonprofit organization with the mission to stop drunk driving and support the victims of drunk driving accidents, is an excellent resource for support as well.

Truck driver fired for giving away plywood to Irma victims
A Massachusetts truck driver was fired from his job after he gave away plywood to needy Floridians in Tampa girding for Hurricane Irma, it was reported on Thursday.Tim McCrory, 27, was driving his truck to a Home Depot just outside of Tampa last Friday night to deliver emergency shipments of plywood just hours before Irma made landfall in south Florida.McCrory's truck suffered a flat tire, resulting in him being late to the department store which had closed by the time he arrived at approximately 9pm.Because of the approaching storm, the Home Depot had already closed, according to Fox 13 TV.His manager back in Tennessee told him that he would have to wait until Tuesday to complete his delivery. So McCrory says he decided to wait out the storm in his truck.A few hours later at approximately 2:30am on Saturday, McCrory says an off-duty police officer approached his truck in search of plywood. The officer told McCrory that he had been busy helping others prepare for the storm and that as a result he did not have time to secure his own home. When McCrory was made aware of the urgent need for plywood, he decided to hand out pieces to the officer and others who heard through word-of-mouth.By 6:30am on Saturday, McCrory offloaded and donated 960 pieces of plywood, helping up to 200 households, he said.'Being an American citizen, that's what we do,' McCrory told WTSP-TV.But his employer did not see it that way.Western Express, the Nashville-based company, decided to fire McCrory, who admitted after giving away the plywood that he had a feeling he was in trouble with his boss. The company CEO, Paul Wieck, said that while he understood why McCrory did what he did, he needed to look out for the bottom line.'I understand his heart,' Wieck said, 'but the plywood belonged to our customer.'Wieck did not confirm that McCrory had been fired. The company has since declined comment to numerous media inquiries. One of the locals helped by McCrory's generosity decided to return the favour when she heard that the man who most likely was responsible for protecting her home was fired from his job because of it.Tracy Dillon Drew, a resident of Zephyrhills, Florida, launched a GoFundMe page to help McCrory, who returned home to western Massachusetts.'Even though we were all strangers, I cannot explain the sense of community I felt with those of us who were there lucky enough to not just receive plywood, but also receive a much more important gift - compassion from a man who will risk getting caught in the storm driving back to his home to bring us wood, who also risked his job to make sure regardless of Home Depot's refusal to accept his order that Zephyrhills would have some plywood,' Drew wrote on the GoFundMe page.As of Thursday evening, the crowdfunding campaign had raised $1,665 of its goal of $2,000 to help McCrory get back on his feet again.
America’s First Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
Since its heyday in the late 1800s, bare-knuckle boxing in the US has been relegated to parking lots and grimy basements, an underground sport that couldn’t find a way to bring itself above board. But in June of 2018—after spending years petitioning almost 30 states to sanction the brutal fights—promoter David Feldman finally managed to stage America's first-ever legal bare-knuckle boxing match in Wyoming.
VICE went to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships in Cheyenne a few days ahead of the big event to hear how Feldman managed to pull it off, and to meet a handful of fighters for whom boxing—and even MMA fighting—just isn’t hardcore enough.

Trailer park millionaires
Some of the richest people in the US, including billionaires Warren Buffett and Sam Zell, have made millions from trailer parks at the expense of the country's poorest people. Seeing their success, ordinary people from across the country are now trying to follow in their footsteps and become trailer park millionaires. The Guardian went to Orlando to learn the tricks of the trade from Frank Rolfe, the self-appointed dean of Mobile Home University, as he led would-be investors around a trailer park for sex offenders.

Recycle glass with Joel as he explores the process of glass recycling. Scrap glass is recycled instead of disposed of. What is glass recycling? Learn with PBS kids t.v. show, Curiosity Quest Goes Green season #1 episode#5
Glass is one of the few materials that can be recycled infinitely without losing strength, purity or quality. Glass bottles and jars are collected in most U.S. communities at the curb, at drop-off collection sites and through container deposit programs in 10 states. Check your local program to find out how you can recycle glass containers.
-
Glass bottles and jars are an integral part of any community recycling program. They're 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without any loss in purity or quality. Recycling glass containers saves energy, conserves resources, and diverts this valuable resource from landfill. Plus, consumers expect glass to be included in their local recycling program.
Get the basic Do's and Don'ts for recycling glass containers—what to include in your recycling bin and what to keep out. Then find a program in your community for recycling glass bottles and jars.
-
Glass recycling is the process of turning waste glass into usable products. Glass waste should be separated by chemical composition, and then, depending on the end use and local processing capabilities, might also have to be separated into different colors. Many recyclers collect different colors of glass separately since glass retains its color after recycling. The most common types used for consumer containers are colorless glass, green glass, and brown/amber glass.
Glass makes up a large component of household and industrial waste due to its weight and density. The glass component in municipal waste is usually made up of bottles, broken glassware, light bulbs and other items. Adding to this waste is the fact that many manual methods of creating glass objects have a defect rate of around forty percent. Glass recycling uses less energy than manufacturing glass from sand, lime and soda.[citation needed]
Every metric ton (1,000 kg) of waste glass recycled into new items saves 315 kilograms of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere during the creation of new glass. Glass that is crushed and ready to be remelted is called cullet.
