Where is Mounigou
Located in the Songpan county of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Prefecture at the northern Sichuan Province in China, Mounigou (or Munigou) is famous for its charming natural view, traditional ethnic culture, highland lakes, hot springs, giant calcified waterfall, calcified colorful pools and virgin forest. It is 300km away from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan and 140km from Jiuzhaigou National Park. Although it’s less famous than Jiuzhaigou Valley and Huanglong Valley, the scenery there is NOT less splendid.
扎嘎瀑布，海拔3166-3270米，瀑布高104米，寬35-40米，既是液體瀑布，又是固體鈣化流瀑，為中國最高的鈣化瀑布。冬天時結冰，潔白形如哈達。
牟尼溝風景區位於中國西南牟尼鄉鏡內，其中的鈣化池瀑布可與黃龍「瑤池」比美。
牟尼溝現有兩大景觀：扎嘎瀑布，二道海。

SONGPAN THE OLDEST TOWN OF SICHUAN PROVINCE
Hello everyone,We stayed 2 nights in Songpan old town.Of all the town we visited, Songpan is my favourite town.(This is the entrance oldest building when you enter Songpan town by night).It is small, but yet there is western food serve in a few fast food shop and restaurant.Good coffee is serve in few corners too.(Look of Entrance to the old town by day)A few shopping such as clothing and so many fruits along the road side are up for grabs and it is cheapThe reason we stayed here is for us to see the Huanglong Nature park, the Mounigou waterfall and Jade Lake.Huanglong Nature ParkHuanglong has a many big and small ponds.At this time we were here, it is almost dry and icey.However, we still able to see the beauty of Huanglong nature park.2 nights was good enough for us.In Mounigou WaterfallThis waterfall is pretty and has a long stretch to walk down to see the over all fall.It took us about 2 hour from the start to finish.Walking up and to walk down back to the car park.My best moment in Mounigou Waterfall is the streams of water flowing between the trees.Jade lakeOf all this 3 nature I mentions here, Jade lake fascinates me much of the colours. No wonder it is name Jade lake.These are the most and best 3 things you can do when you are in Songpan.Of course, do not missed out the shopping for winter clothes.They are reasonable in price and quality. Just do not buy fake brand name bags.This is the place we stayed in Songpan. There are many colorful pools and round waterfalls in Zhaga Valley. The various sounds of waterfalls echo throughout the forest. Some fall down from the calcific steps while others pass through the woods creating an impressive spray and some misty fog.
Among the most beautiful waterfalls, Zhaga Waterfall feels like the most supernatural one. It is the largest travertine waterfall in China. It is 93.2 meters (306 feet) high and 35 meters (38 yards) wide with an elevation of 3,270 meters (10,728 feet). In the upper reaches of the waterfall is a lake and in the lower reaches, is a multistep waterbed. When the waterfall rushes down from the travertine steps, it creates a large spray and an earsplitting sound. Visitors will be astonished by the amazing scene. The filemot rock cliff of the waterfall shows some flowery color under the sunshine. -

Sichuan - The Pools of Immortals (神仙池)
The Pools of Immortals (also known as Goddess Lake or Fairy Pools) lies within the territory of Dalu Village under Jiuzhaigou County. With an altitude over 2,000m above sea, this place is 49 km from the entrance of Jiuzhaigou National Park. When you walk in the zigzagging gully of Goddess Lake, you will see a chain of natural colourful ponds almost everywhere embraced by the misty woods.
