黑龙江 齐齐哈尔 扎龙国家级自然保护区: Zhalong Nature Reserve
扎龙是中国著名的珍贵水禽自然保护区，位于市区东南三十公里处，总面积二十一万公顷。区内地势低洼，河流漫溢，苇草叢生，湖泡星罗棋布，是适于水禽鸟类栖息繁衍的天然乐园。据统计，扎龙自然保护区有各种禽鸟二百九十六种。其中尤以鹤类居多而闻名于世，世界有十五种鹤，我国有九种，而扎龙可见六种(丹顶鹤、白枕鹤、蓑羽鹤、灰鹤、白头鹤)，因此，齐齐哈尔有“鹤乡”之美称。

Qiqihar is the economic, cultural, scientific and commercial center of the west of Heilongjiang Province. It is a charismatic city, and also an excellent tourist city in China. It has the reputation of the capital of Chinese green food.
It is a cultural city with a history of more than 800 years. What’s more, it is one of the first old industrial bases built by the country. There is not only the first heavy machinery factory, praised by Premier Zhou Enlai as “national treasure”, and the first and second machine tool factories in Qiqihar, but also the three largest military production enterprises that have made outstanding contributions to the development of China. The Green Food Expo in Qiqihar and the cultural tourism festival in Guandong city have gathered a large number of Chinese and foreign businessmen every year and have injected new vitality into the economic development. There are several natural and cultural scenic spots such as Mingyue island, Longsha Park, Wildlife Park, Navy Hot Springs, General Mansion of Heilongjiang, and the site of the Anti Japanese war in Jiangqiao. Among them, Zhalong Nature Reserve is the largest waterfowl and Bird Nature Reserve in the country and has the reputation of China's great wetland and the home of crane. Therefore, Qiqihar is also known as Hecheng(it means the city of crane).

Zhalong Nature Reserve, China, red-crowned cranes ready to be released, read below
Nearly sixty red-crowned cranes were hatched this year in China's Zhalong National Nature Reserve in Heilongjiang Province, the world's largest captive breeding centre for endangered birds.There are no more than 1,000 red-crowned cranes living in the wild in China and about 2,000 worldwide. The reserve has been exploring ways to train captive-bred cranes for release into the wild. Read and watch more please:

Qiqihar is one of the 13 Larger Municipalities in China, and the second largest city in the Heilongjiang province, China.The built-up area made up of Longsha, Tiefeng and Jianhua districts had 979,517 inhabitants, while the total population of the prefecture-level city was 5,367,003 at the 2010 census.These are mainly Han Chinese, though the city is also home to thirty-four minorities including Manchu, Daur, and Mongolians.Close to Qiqihar are numerous wetlands and the Zhalong Nature Reserve, famous in China for being home to numerous red-crowned cranes.

CCTV Airs Live China's Topographic Features to Mark National Day
A special documentary produced by China Central Television (CCTV) to mark the National Day demonstrated the distinctive topographic features of the world's third largest country on Wednesday.
Karst landscapes are widely distributed in China and it is in south China that the most typical and diverse Karst landforms developed. The county of Wulong in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality is one of the representatives of the topographic feature in China.
Wulong Karst landscapes consist of Three Natural Bridges, Houping Giant Doline (Houping Tiankeng) and Furong Cave, developing under the condition of intermittent uplifting movement of the earth.
Furong Cave, literally Lotus Cave, is the only cave in China that is listed as the World Natural Heritage, and it is one of the three largest caves in the world.
Yardang landform in northwest China's Gansu Province, is known for its dramatic forms and unique layout. The landform, formed by wind erosion, is a rare natural museum of natural sculptures.
The landscape formed with blue sky, gobi desert gives visitors a simple sketch of western area in China.
Yardang National Park is a wonderful geological park with large scale of Yardang landform. It is located 180 kilometers northwest from Dunhuang City and covers an area of 398 square kilometers.
Danxia landform, is a unique type of red-colored sandstone, forming steep cliffs and pillars.
Chishui Danxia landform, located in Chishui City, in southwest China's Guizhou Province demonstrates the richness of the Danxia landform diversity. It covers an area of over 1,200 square kilometers.
Spinulose tree fern was the main food source for dinosaurs. The green plant sets off the beautify of the flaming cliffs of Chishui Danxia.
The homeland of red-crowned cranes, Zhalong Nature Reserve is located in the city of Qiqihar in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. The wetland is China's precious waterfowl protective area, and an ideal home for over 300 different species of birds.
The mountain spring known as Yueya, at the northern foot of the Mingsha Hill (a shifting sand hill) is located 5 kilometers from the city of Dunhuang. The spring is nearly 100 meters long and about 25 meters wide, with the deepest part being about 5 meters. It bends like a crescent moon, hence its name.
The Jade Gate Pass, also known as Yumen Pass, more than 70 kilometers away from Dunhuang City used to an important pass along the Silk Road. Now the Belt and Road initiative gives it a new connotation.More on:

Red-crowned cranes escape winter at east China’s wetland
More than 500 red-crowned cranes have arrived in Yancheng National Rare Bird Reserve to escape the harsh winter. They mostly come from northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, with some flying from Siberia. They begin arriving at Yancheng reserve in mid-October every year.
