In the most beautiful season in Qingdao, feed seagulls in Zhanqiao Pier of Qingdao
Zhanqiao Pier was built in 1892 as a wharf. After expansion and renovation in 1931 and 1985, today’s pier is a steel and concrete structure, 440 meters long and 8 meters wide. At the south end of it, there is a two-storied octagonal pavilion, named “Huilange”. North of it, along the seashore, there is a park in which flowers and Japanese black pines are grown and stone stools, chairs and long verandas are set for visitors.
When you are on top of the pavilion, a magnificent view of successive huge waves will unfold in your eyes, as if the pavilion were moving towards you against waves.
“Flying Pavilion Blocking Waves” is acclaimed as one of the “Top Ten Scenic Areas” in Qingdao.
OTRA China Tour 2011 - 35 - Qingdao Pier or Zhan Qiao Pier
April 2011. Rainout. Built in 1891, this pier and the iconic octogonal pavilion at the end of it are recognized all over the world on bottles of Tsingtao beer. That day it rain and didn't see the scenery clearly. We did walk to the end of the pier. Didn't take many pictures due to the rain. On the way to the pier on the tour bus we past by one of the Tsingtao Beer factory but didn't stop there, it was not part of the tour.

Discovering Badaguan in Qingdao China
Badaguan is a historical mansion area located near the coastline in the city of Qingdao, Shandong, China. Badaguan is made up of streets named after great military forts of the ancient times. It was originally a residential area for the Germans built when Qingdao was a German protectorate.

Episode 13: Hiking and Climbing Fu Mountain Fushan Qingdao Travel, China Shandong 远足和攀登富山福山在青岛，中国
We live in Qingdao and the way we describe it to friends and family back home is that it's like living in Boulder, Colorado by the ocean which is a GREAT combination!
We have lived here for three years and have climbed Fu many times; it is our neighborhood mountain and has many flavors and aspects depending on where you are on the mountain.
The small hamlet of Qingdao, only 11M people, is broken up by mountain chains and beautiful peaks. The one that's just a 20-minute walk from our beach bungalow is Fu. It's a gorgeous mountain with the opportunity to hike, climb, climb with ropes, mountain bike and even cycle. It's about an hour to get to the peak where there are spectacular views of both the ocean and city and you can walk on the ridge for an entire day.
It stretches from Shilaoren to the start of the downtown area. On the mountain, you will find local burial sites, German military tunnels, a Buddhist Temple, natural springs where Qingdaoans collect water, and numerous sports complexes (basketball, soccer, tennis, etc.).
