Shantou/汕头 - The old town & Zhongshan Park
As Shenzhen, Shantou is as well a Special Economic Zone, but didn't see such a boom and growth like Shenzhen. After we had Dim Sum for breakfast on this rainy day we headed over to Zhongshan Park. Afterwards we passed by the old town in the western part of central Shantou (around Zhenping Rd., Minzu Rd., Shengping Rd., Tongping Rd.). There are still a lot of historical buildings but they are in a pretty dilapidated condition and will be torn down soon. We wanted to see more of Shantou (Nan'ao Island, Lotus Flower Mountain/LianHuaShan) but the weather was so bad that we decided to drive home and then the terrible journey back home started where we were stranded a couple of times on the highway. The whole trip back took us nearly 11 hours!

汕頭市中山公園是粵東地區建園歷史最早、規模最大、具有深厚歷史，和人文內涵的綜合性公園，總面積309畝。
公園四周環水，月眉河環繞園區，中山橋、月眉橋、和迎春橋三座橋樑，將公園與市區陸地連在一起，園區的玉鑑湖面積近百畝，風光綺麗，名聞海內外。
公園中的牌樓、假山、九曲橋三處園林建築被譽為園中 “三絕”。牌樓高達18米，巨柱矗立，碧瓦覆蓋，氣勢雄偉壯觀，其正面鑲有譚延闓手書 “中山公園” 四個浮雕金字，背面為孫中山先生手書 “天下為公” 四個浮雕金字。牌樓後面矗立著孫中山先生全身銅像。

中山公園位於汕頭市靜謐的舊城區地段，如同廣東其它的 “中山公園” 一樣，這座公園同樣是20世紀初期為紀念革命先驅孫中山而建。遊人行至公園入口不遠處，便可看到高約30米的正門牌坊上孫中山手書的 “天下為公” 四個大字。園中山水環抱，亭台樓閣間無不湧現著一股嶺南獨有的秀麗姿態，因為人煙寥寥，更添一分幽靜祥和。
在中國的公園當中，寫着 “中山公園” 的有不少，而寫着 “天下為公” 的也很多，可見中國人對於孫中山的懷念還是比較有感情的，正因為他的理念觸動了很多人，一直到現在，仍然在影響着人們對他的敬仰。

The Zhongshan Park (Chinese: 中山公园/中山公園), is a former imperial garden and now a public park lies just southeast of the Forbidden City in the Dongcheng District of central Beijing.
Jingshan (Chinese: 景山; pinyin: Jǐngshān; literally Prospect Hill) is an artificial hill in Beijing, China. Covering an area of more than 230,000 m², and spans across both the Xicheng District and the Dongcheng District, Jingshan is also immediately north of the Forbidden City on the central axis of Beijing. Originally an imperial garden, it is now a public park, known as Jingshan Park (景山公园).

Chinese New Year 2018
The best thing to do is to travel to China. All chinese people who working from far away home feel very excited to come back to celebrate this festival. They couldn't wait for the reunion with families. For most of chinese people, they may only once time to have a long holiday to go home per year during the Chinese New Year. With this chance, we decided to visit Heather's grandma in Chaoyang 潮阳区.
Chaoyang is a little and cute town which is a district of Shantou City. there is no doubt that it is worth a visit. People can travel this place by train from hong kong. At these days, I experienced lots of local cuisines and full of chinese traditional culture from her typical family. The funniest thing is to give red packets for children and relatives due to we got married last year! A series of visiting relatives, families, sending greetings and eating a lot of foods, we certainly got full of joys and FAT to go back home.
People may not know this place, it is not a popular tourist attraction which people will plan to visit in China. But we believe it is definitely unforgettable memories for us. An inspiration and be proud of our generation.
