This style is said to have evolved from the ancient methods practiced in that village. A branch of the Cai Family left to move to Zhejiang while the rest of the family stayed in Fujian. A generation or two later Cai Yuming was born to the same Cai family of Quanzhou. Cai Yuming known in the local dialect as Chua Giok Beng is considered by many to be the founder of the Wuzu Quan system. Eastern Mountain Slope Methods is a branch of Five Divisions Boxing, this is a complex of styles practiced in certain areas of Wenzhou prefecture in Zhejiang. The history of these styles is quite confusing with different branches claiming very different histories although the relationship is very clear. With the exception of this style all the rest of the substyles in this group have extremely similar sounding names using generally using different Characters pronounced as Wu followed by a character pronounced as something like Zhi or Ji. The most widely spread and probably original version of the name is Wu Zhi (Five Divisions)
