Phantom 3 Standard fly by at Manton Dam, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia
Built in 1942, Manton Dam was Darwin's first reliable water supply.
Today the dam is a pleasant destination for an easy daytrip from Darwin, 70 kilometres south, and a popular recreation spot that is accessible year-round.
Manton Dam is a water sport enthusiast's paradise. Bring a powerboat and water skis and enjoy yourself in the powerboat and water ski zone. Canoeists, windsurfers and low-speed boaties can take an easier pace in the low speed zone. Pack a picnic and make the most of the day - there are tables and barbecues in shady spots (BYO wood from outside the park). Bring your fishing rod and try your luck - if it's a while between bites there are plenty of ducks and other wader species to spot while you enjoy a relaxing pause on the bank. Alongside the water species, birdwatchers will also be able to see many Eucalypt woodland birds, as this habitat is part of the shoreline in many places. Reptiles and mammals have also been recorded in this area and form a large part of the fauna list for the Dam and its environs.

About me and my NT Fishing Adventures
---
See that big bloke in front of the camera? Yea, that's me. G’day folks, I’m Mikey Cunningham. I’m not only the bloke in front of the camera, I do all the work behind the camera too. I make fishing videos.
I live in Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory. Also known as the Top End. A lot of my older videos are from the Gulf of Carpentaria, when I lived in a little fishing village called King Ash Bay Fishing Club. It's located on the banks of the McArthur River downstream from Borroloola in the Northern Territory. I still go back there a few times a year and make fishing videos of my fishing trips.
I enjoy filming and editing my fishing adventures. Sometimes it's not all about the fishing and catching fish. I try to make my fishing videos as entertaining as possible. Thank you to everyone who leaves me a comment and shares my stuff. You guys are awesome.

Limestone Gorge, Gregory National Park. Darwin 4X4
A 9km dirt track will take you from the main dirt road into Gregory National Park to the camp site at Limestone Gorge. The track passes Tufa Dams a limestone dam formation in the river bed that is often dry by mid dry season. It then progresses onto a short section of bolder strewn dry river bed before ending at the camp site. Camp sites offer very little shade, toilet facility and fire pit. No fresh water is available.

The park was formerly known as Gregory National Park, but on 21 October 2011, it was announced that under a joint management plan with the traditional owners, the park would be dual-named Judbarra for a period of ten years. Beginning in 2021, its official name will be Judbarra National Park.[3]
The park consists of two geographically disjoint sections. The larger section lies to the southwest of the smaller northeastern section.

Bullita Stock Route, 4x4. Gregory National Park. 4x4 (Darwin)
Bullita Stock route
This video shows what you may expect on the trail.
92 km and 8 hours the distance includes 23 km Drovers Rest return trip, 70.2 km without Drovers Rest. This one way track follows a section of the stock route to Wyndham used by Bullita and Humbert River Stations. It is one way because the East Baines crossing and the jump up south east of Spring Creek Yard can only be negotiated in one direction. The track crosses changing landscapes including limestone country with spectacular boab-dotted ridgelines. The jump up and two East Baines crossings are moderately difficult. The remainder of the track is flatter and easier, although rocky sections are slow going.

In order to help maintain this beautiful species, we have given some advice on how to best handle the fish if you do catch a giant groper while fishing. The Queensland groper reaches sizes of 2m 70 and over 400kg although larger catches have been reported. If over 1m20 in the northern territory, the Queensland groper is listed as a protected species, as is any rock cods over that size and should be released without harm.
