We had such an amazing time on the Zotter Chocolate Theater tour! For 180 RMB per person you can literally eat as much chocolate as you like! The tour is basically station after station of chocolate in every flavor and form you can imagine! The tour also starts with a great 20-minute video introducing Zotter's fair trade, organic philosophy on chocolate production. Zotter is an Austrian chocolate company, and the chocolate theater in Shanghai is so far the company's only international location. So it's a special place for many reasons!
The chocolate theater is located in the new Shanghai Fashion Center complex in the north Bund area. After the tour, you can walk off some of the chocolate in the outlet shops. There are dozens of shops! The prices are okay relative to full priced items in Shanghai, but we still found them to be expensive given how much the same items cost back home.
The closest metro station is AiGuo Road on Line 12. It's a 15-20 minute walk from the station. If you're taking a taxi, then the cross streets are YangShuPu Road and NeiJiang Road. ;)

An Hour Of Chocolate | Zotter Chocolate Theatre
Hey peoples! Took a trip into Yangpu District in Shanghai to taste chocolate for an hour. I was afraid they would have soy in the chocolate and I wouldn't be able to taste anything but they only had 2 fountains of soy flavors.
Also I know a lot of this is out of focus, I've been experimenting with settings and this video suffered a little.

Julia Zotter (27), lebt seit einem Jahr in Shanghai – und leitet dort als Geschäftsführerin die Niederlassung der zotter-Schokoladen. Ganz nach dem Vorbild der gläsernen Manufaktur in der Steiermark wurde im Mai 2014 in der 30 Mio. Einwohner zählenden Metropole ein Schokoladentheater mit Verkostungstour und einer kleinen Produktion eröffnet. China ist für Julia ein besonderes Land, hat sie doch bereits als Schülerin während eines Auslandjahres bereits dort gelebt. Die Sprache ist ihr nicht fremd, die Mentalität der Menschen fast schon vertraut – und dennoch ist der Alltag von vielen Herausforderungen und Überraschungen geprägt.

DISCOVER SHANGHAI IN 48 HOURS • 2017
The best part of being based in Hong Kong is that there are so many wonderful cities to travel to for a short trip over the weekend!
With many flights from HKG to SHG (Pudong or Hongqiao) every day, it's easy to whisk off to Shanghai for a weekend trip especially since flights are only around 2.5 hours long! (3 days rather than just a weekend might be easier though, especially if it's your first trip!).
For my birthday this year, a couple of us decided to head up to Shanghai and feast on some oh-so-yummy xiao long bao and HAIRY CRAB! With only around 1.5 days to actually cram in all our activities, we managed to bike in the amazingly crisp and beautiful autumn weather and visited some art museums (Power Station of Art) too!
Food & drink places visited included Jia Jia Tang Bao (佳家汤包), Yang's Dumplings (小杨生煎), Old Jesse (老吉士) - for Shanghai-nese cuisine & hairy crab (大闸蟹), green tea & cheese (芝士奶蓋) drinks at Hey Tea (喜茶) and dinner at Mercato by the Bund.
Shanghai is truly lots of fun for a foodie & cultural getaway, and it was so nice being able to catch up with my uni friends from London College of Fashion!

For a change of scenery, we took the HuZhu Express bus from downtown Shanghai to ZhuJiaJiao, an ancient water town about one hour from the city center. We spent half a day meandering through the town's narrow shop-lined alleyways and crossing romantic stone bridges over canals filled with wooden manually operated boats. The comfortable bus ride was only 12 RMB (USD $2) per person, leaving about every 10 minutes from the Pu'an Road bus station near Middle JinLing Road and closest to the DaShiJie metro station on Line 8.
We advise getting as early a start as possible because ZhuJiaJiao is packed with tourists by 11:00 AM on weekends. It's an even more enjoyable place when you have it pretty much to yourself in the mornings and/or evenings.
