Arsen Revazov photo art
ar33studio
ar33studio is a photographic workshop and studio based in Venice, lead by the artist Arsen Revasov.
Ar33studio is conceived as both a place of production and real time exhibition of the artist’s research, whilst
also acting as an open place for workshops and events related to photography and contemporary art.
Arsen Revasov’s artistic research deals both with B/W and color photography. Combining traditional
techniques (large-format camera, platinum prints, long exposure) with new inventions of the last century
(infrared technologies), the artist attempts to explore the potential of photography as a way of translating the
world into a luminescent process, a drama of perception of light and darkness, brightness and opacity.
His photographic practice is a pilgrimage through the universes of light registered in landscape, where human
and natural traces, past and present are captured in co-existence, and where from the very place of this coexistence
beauty may appear.
Starting from this premises, Arsen Revasov literally conceives himself as a photographer mid-voyage, a body
in motion through distances of spaces and times, in ancient and modern cities, natural and human landscapes,
making photography a way of capturing what, in this movement, remains as the trace of an un-edited relation.
Arsen Revasov (b. 1966) in Moscow, is a Russian artist working with large scale photograpy. In 2010 a first
personal exhibition “Non-Apparent World” in the Triumph Gallery took place (curator Irina Meglinskaya).
Arsen Revazov’s works are present in museums and private collections in the USA, Central America, Europe
and Russia. Since 2013 Arsen lives and works predominantly in Venice.
